That tortured logic is so ridiculous that it doesn't even make sense.

Another reason Rubio should drop out.

what are your others? He actually seems more cogent that MOST of the field. He also puts forth one of the better rationales for a campaign(youth, and the fact this is a rapidly changing world). I'm curious as to why you seem adamant above.

Slick: this is either going to end up in NHB (where it will die) or a lot of back-and-forth will happen. which will also cause it to die.

I really liked his performance in that Fox debate, so seeing these quotes above is disheartening. :/

Yeah, he's so cogent that rump leads the pack and Carson and Fiorina are rising in the polls and Rubio is sliding down. He'll be lucky to be in the top ten when the next debate begins. Rubio is acting like a politician and doesn't seem to have a smidgen of a touch on the conservative voters pulse. GOP voters are tired of candidates doing the same old same old. Trump is in the lead because he doesn't speak like a politician and says what is really on his mind.

It's pretty early in the game and most of the candidates don't have a statistically significant lead over one another, so I wouldn't doubt Rubio doesn't make the top 10. But to their credit, I thought Fiorina did great and deserves more attention, and I can see the appeal of Carson – he's got that "uncle" feel like Ron Paul had.

That might be a good thing. Traditionally, candidates try to appeal to their base before moving to the center, but if you start toward the middle you'll get less accusations of flip-flopping later on. I think it's a good move and I see more candidates this time playing it safe by not ramping up the far-right rhetoric. They seemed to have learned the lesson from Romney's brutal beating. And I'm not sure any conservatives even know what "the pulse" is anymore. The same can be said for liberals.

so, basically, Woody, Rubio should quit because he is actually approaching this whole thing with an eye on winning the general election? Kowtowing to conservative voters has been a loser in the last 2 Presidentials, and the demographics are worse this time, and ongoing. You are slamming Rubio for appealing to a broader base, which is EXACTLY what the post 2012 analysis said the GOP had to do to survive long-term.

Rubio needs to get that dog whistle out of his mouth and actually think with his brain for once. Then he'll be ready to be president.

Aren't all of them running on the idea of winning? Or are you saying some of them are running for the the thrill of it.

Trump might be running for the thrill. Yes, all of them want to win, but if you ignore a sensible strategy then you will surely lose. I still think it's way too early to count any of them out, except for Graham, Perry, and Santorum, maybe.
