I think it's weird that people who are ordinarily so concerned with "rule of law" when it comes to immigration in general have decided the law is wrong in this specific case.

actually, someone pointed out the other day, one party, who blats on about the Constitution and its primacy, wants to change large parts of it. It goes beyond the 14th, to stuff about church and state, a bizarre interpretation of the 2nd, voting rights, general welfare clause of the Preamble, etc.
