I haven't played that for awhile. You'd probably clean my clock.

Isaac, I looked through Google Play and found the Chess Time app. Looks fun. When I install it on my Samsung Tab, I'll tell you my screen name. I have to warn you that I'm only on my tablet in the evening Pacific time most of the time though, and my chess is rusty.

Sounds good! I'm the king of making stupid mistakes, so you have nothing to worry about.

Just created an account, I'm in as "Foil". My chess is pretty rusty, too.
[ For anyone into Scrabble-style games, I'm also in AlphaJax (Windows/XBox platforms) as "Foil K". ]

Gonna try to establish an account tonight, if things don't get hectic around here, as "tunnelcat", of course.

Foil and I are already in a game. I don't see you yet, TC.

I'm enjoying it - haven't played anyone but my son (who I am intentionally going super-easy on) in ages.

Patience Isaac. I haven't even booted the tablet up yet today. In fact, it's still charging up right now. I really ran the battery down the other night playing Hitman Sniper. Good game too. Much better than the Steam version. I'll try to get things set up tonight.

GG, Isaac. I gotta remember not to play my moves so quickly, you caught me twice reacting with a quick move I should have taken more time to think about.

Trust me when I say, I make mistakes all the time when I play. I also have a habit of saying "Omg I'm so stupid" letting my opponent know I've set myself up. My coworker beats me all the time. He' s just more careful and patient than me.

Well, you got me the first time I played and it was because of a quick decision on my part. $#&%! My hubby was talking to me at the time and I got distracted. Besides, I told you I was rusty. I haven't played for 25 years! I'm out of practice. So now I've got to look way ahead to see what trap you're envisioning for me and ignore the TV or other distractions. I hope you have patience for my sporadic playing. Usually I only I turn on my device in the evenings, but I try to check in the mornings.

It's not a problem for me TC. Everyone I play against starts rusty and they begin to get good over time. Plus I play with a bunch of people at once. You, Foil, my brother and four friends. Everyone makes moves and when I have time I go through all the games and make my moves. In some games I'm winning others I'm not.

You can multiplex and strategize much better than me. I have trouble just keeping track of only
your moves.

It seems like you fall into my knight's traps. I got your queen and other pieces by putting you in check while aiming at a vital piece. If you were to double check my knights, and do "what if" scenarios with them, you'd notice them right away.
Here's a screen shot of our previous game, where my knight (black) landed in a spot where it put your king and queen in its danger zone

I think most people that win at chess are better at double checking if a move will put them in jeopardy. People who are more careful than me beat me all the time.
They way I play is very simple. I have two phases. My first phase is trying to get as much control of the board early on with as few moves as possible. I read some websites on how to win a chess. A strong opening is one of them. So normally use the same opening each time because I know it's a standard strong opening. The second phase is getting you into traps by sacrificing my own pieces to crack your defenses or using my knight to make you decide between two pieces of your own.
edit:
but I think with more before each move caution, you can beat me.

Gotta get those knights, and your queen. Nasty little devils those knights. You had me checked by a rook last time though. I've got to quit playing Hitman Sniper at the same time. It drains the battery and I lose concentration for the chess task. I keep thinking, "Head shots, gotta get better at moving head shots". Last night was the first night I've gotten at least 7 hours of sleep in a week also. Maybe since I'm finally charged up...

Anyone else want to join? Isaac and I have played three games so far, and I'm really enjoying getting back to playing.

You can invite me Foil. I definitely need the practice. Isaac has already wiped the floor with me 3 times, but I almost got him the last time. I hear you beat him already. I'm on as tunnelcat, the same as here, if you're interested in evening rounds.

I'll probably fire up the tablet tonight. I started a game with Isaac, but I'll see if I can embarrass myself with you first.
