In Afghanistan, military higher up's have said not to interfere with Afghanistan men raping boys even to the point where 3 marines were killed because of it:

A lawsuit charges that the U.S. military’s indifference to the crime of Afghanistan officials sexually abusing boys led to the killings of three Marines in 2012 by the youthful companion of a corrupt Afghan police chief.

So what has become of our values when we turn a blind eye to such vile crimes? Hey, if it is OK over there maybe one day NAMBLA will be accepted here.

and, the plan was to bring Western Democracy to this paradise on Earth?

I've taken a jaundiced view of the American Military instilling anything in a culture that is foreign to ours. This goes way back to Vietnam and the program of winning the "Hearts and Minds" of the local people.

good to see you absorbed that lesson. That is why I tend to support rather strict limits on military involvement, as in my recent memory, most such forays seem to incorporate some sort of 'hearts and minds' component.
