Alright folks, I'm heading to southern California to visit my grandparents. (the Goleta area if you're curious) If you happen to see me on the road, don't be afraid to say hello.

My mug so those that care will recognize me. I won't be straying far from I-40 other than for food or fuel, but you'll have a better shot of catching me on my way back. I'll be stopping by the Grand Canyon, then hitting up Vegas, then onward to the Denver, CO area to visit my cousin. If you spot me, give a yell. I answer to Chris.

Pah, anyone who lives here will tell you the real SoCal cuts off at LA. Come another hundred fifty miles or so more south and you'll see what I mean.

No thanks. Your thumb isn't going ANYWHERE near me.
EVER!
I got back a few hours ago, and I've got ALOT of pictures to download from the camera and edit. Most of them are Panorama shots of the Grand Canyon and the "Garden of the Gods" park. I'm tellin' ya folks, if you've never been to either one of these places, GO! Pictures cannot do justice...

Speaking of pictures....

Download and enjoy.
(all pics are 1280x960) Personally, I rather like #7 enough to use it as my desktop.

Dude, Wow!
Thanks for posting those. It's been many years since I've been there. Those are some really great pix. They give a good feel of just how BIG that place is.
Was that flagstaff near the end?

Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs actually. I apologize for the poor image quality as I had to brighten them up due to the camera taking poor quality images in the dark. (Olympus Camedia D-360R, 1.3MPixel) I actually did go through Flagstaff though.
What was neat was while I was on the bus going on the Kaibab Trail, a group of mule deer crossed the road infront of us. They had absolutely no fear of man or machine in them as they crossed the road. Doesn't hold a candle to what happened last year though. A herd of elk (atleast 15 of them) walked into the campground at the Grand Canyon and started grazing. They didn't have any apparent fear of man either, but they atleast stopped when people took pictures and stared before continuing on. One of them slept RIGHT outside the trailer window. I remember looking through the blinds and noticing those huge antlers....I was like "HELLO!" and started hoping the big brute didn't get scared and attack the window.
