first, there is no real evidence the system cannot survive it just fine, nor that the migration in this case is anything but temporary. Many of the migrants are professionals and will find work and a place in whatever society they end up in. Second, and very much worth noting, this is nothing new. America absorbed a far larger migration of relatively illiterate and impoverished people between 1880 and 1930, and flourished because of it. I know you trade on gloom and doom, Nightshade, but there is no real truth behind it, certainly not at this juncture.
