I read that a few months ago. Should definitely be required reading before forming any opinion on what to do about ISIS.

Yeah. And meanwhile for the world's largest center of radical Islam, the founder and sponsor of ISIS, the United States continues to supply modern weapons.

That sale is yet another stupid move on the U.S.'s part. I guess we're going to have to live, or perhaps die, with our constant stupid military decisions.
However, I think those terrorists in France were using AK's. Now where do you suppose they got those weapons?

in the same way that some people follow the Bible. Literally. It's a good example of people in modern societies attempting to live according to ancient texts taken too literally.

I'm shocked.
You actually conceded that islam demands violence- in it's literal sense.

Good for you. Unfortunately, many others aren't as lucky.

You obviously are strongly against all muslims, but you never seem to offer your opinion of what you want done. Care to share with us?

Reformation of islam into a non-violent and non-supremacist religion would be the best case- but I have my doubts it would happen anytime soon. And no, don't put words in my mouth Vander... I never said I was against 'all muslims.' I am against islam as it exists today, not the people it has enslaved.

I only got halfway through the article before I got bored. It's just saying the same thing over and over. If true, and they aim to bring about a biblical apocalypse, it fills me with the greatest hope for humanity. Why? Because these guys are completely delusional and not living in a reality the rest of us share. Also, we outnumber them, literally, 1000:1. They have no chance of brining about an apocalypse, and when it is all over, ISIS will likely have the unexpected effect of bringing about Islam's long-awaited reform as association with ISIS' principals will be regarded much like we view Nazism.
ISIS is a gift to the world, but not at all like they imagine, haha.

"Islam as it exists today." My mistake. You're not against all muslims, just what makes all muslims muslim. If I am incorrect or putting words in your mouth, I'm sorry. Perhaps you can help me by using language that may illustrate a differentiation you're trying to make that is apparently lost on me.
And to be sure, I think Islam is a ridiculous belief system that hampers assimilation with western culture/values. Most of the tenants are at odds with my delicate liberal sensibilities. But you know what? I can co-exist with these people if they aren't trying to kill me. And the people trying to kill me are a very small percentage of the world's muslim population. So yes, I differentiate between the people that are trying to kill me, and the people who just have a ridiculous belief system and aren't trying to kill me.
So maybe I'm a low expectation bigot when I try to provide some level of respect for a muslim that doesn't try to kill me. But how else is this reformation you seek to happen?

AK are everywhere. On the Moon, probably too.
