A kinder gentler war

So as the bizarre nature of Obamas war against ISIS continues, here is the latest on showing Obama's way of prosecuting the war:
The planes dropped leaflets warning the drivers to "run immediately or you will be killed," according to the officials, adding that similar leaflets were dropped during U.S. airstrikes last week that destroyed 116 oil tanker trucks.

Now I have to wonder...did ISIS warn anyone in Paris before the slaughter there, or did they warn the people not to get on a certain Egyptian airlines? Obama continually showing weakness in the face of the enemy is why Trump will be our next president instead of another appeaser like Hillary.

And Trump will piss off even MORE people in this world with his indiscriminate bombing of civilians and combatants alike, and start WWIII.

As if the president can actually make that kind of call.
...........................
The thing is woody…those trucks are not owned by ISIS, they are owned and operated by their customers.

So, woodchip doesn't understand the truck drivers are civilians and not ISIS? Am I reading this correctly? He thinks we should kill them?

Also according to woody we should act every bit as inhumanly as terrorists do. That's sure to get people to stop hating us!

So you're saying the drivers work for Halliburton. In war, if you work for the enemy...you are the enemy. Or perhaps you just don't understand how that works..

No, Obama has already started that process by being inept.

Except not all the drivers were civilians:
Davis (Pentagon spokesman) also said the U.S. is warning civilians about the strikes by dropping leaflets to keep those truck drivers who are not Islamic State members away from the trucks in an effort to avoid civilian casualties.
Note the part "those who were not". As I read it some of the drivers were civilians (maybe) and some were ISIS. And BTW, they hate us already.

Obama maybe inept, but you have to remember that most Americans STILL don't want boots on the ground over there. Speaking of inept, don't forget, a Republican, Bush, pretty much started this whole mess. If the Republicans win the election, they will get their change to clean it up......NOT!
Plus, Putin's not a happy camper that Turkey shot down one of his fighters and that the Syrian rebels that
we're backing killed one of the pilots after they ejected and landed. The fate of the other is unknown. What an effing mess, that's getting messier by the day.

Yes, they hate us because we do ★■◆● like ★■◆● up their countries and bomb their civilians. Do you really think that ISIS would have any sort of truly widespread ideological draw (not to mention the ability to establish itself in the first place) if we, say, hadn't invaded Iraq? The sort of ridiculously short-sighted ignorant rhetoric that the likes of Trump spew would do nothing but create several more ISIS clones.

ISIS got its start in dictator run jails…you might want to check with history before placing all of the blame on one person.
Yea…we opened the door, but we didn’t create the monster that came out.

Moreover, the Turkish schmuck knew that Russian pilots will not shoot them.

Of course not, but we did unilaterally create the vacuum of power that unleashed said monster. If we had done nothing it would have remained caged (at least for the time being), and if we had interacted in a positive way it might have been defanged entirely.

If our inept president had signed a status of forces agreement that Ai-Malaki wanted, we would not see the problems with ISIS today. Blame it where you want but along with drawing red lines, Obama does not really now much about the middle east.

I concede anything is possible, but on the other hand what kind of monsters would have been created with continued dictator rule for the next 10-15-20-30-50 years.
Or maybe it would be better if we could go back to regional dictator rule, I mean what’s a little gassing and oppression amongst friends.
Something was going to break sooner or later in that region, and I don’t really buy into the idea that all of that pent up aggression was going to be dissipated over time, because they already had plenty of time.
So maybe there is a silver lining here, and they can get it out of their system the way Europe did, but things will only get worse before they get better.
Just as possible as your scenario.

We should have never opened the door in the first place. Now we're the monster's target, not some tinpot dictator's. He who opens Pandora's Box pays the price.

In retrospect, Western Civilization may have to reap what it's sown. We created this Pandora's Box to begin with, first with the Christian Crusades, then European colonialism, then WWI and WWII, then the creation of Israel, then the Bosnian War, then Bush's Wars, and now our modern greedy oil policy. If Trump want to go in there and take it out from under them by force because he believes it's OURS, he can go and do it by himself. Good luck with that.

World history shows us that absolutely everything largest mighty empires have a period of rise and fall. The US is unlikely to be an exception to this natural order. It's unavoidable. Let's hope that the American Empire is be lucky to land softly and not to sink like a sack of puppies (or as T-1000 will drown, if you will feel better).
