Even though I think Mr. Trump is a stain on the current electoral process, can it be said that his candidacy has brought about good discussions about how our system works? I'm trying to look on the bright side.
Also, kudos to Kasich.

It depresses me that some people would probably vote in a TV personality (no matter how inept and unfit for the job) simply because 'He's THAT guy from the TV show!'
It's too bad we can't demand voters pass a test on current national/international issues and policy to show they are informed and are themselves QUALIFIED to vote.

Don't forget there is a better alternative, which is to foster an environment where people
want to be informed voters who will naturally outweigh those who don't. Of course, the way about this is to avoid hysterical, doomsday rhetoric and highlight those who seek compromise in the political process.
Related: I just finished reading Kasich's website and I am impressed. I think I could be happy with him as president, but I'm not sure he's in line with the current social momentum of the country.

no one here finds the rhetoric and crowd behavior of the Trump milieu a bit reminiscent of the rise of the Nazis? Seriously? Talk of registration of religious adherents, beating and intimidation of journalists, calls to make the nation great based on the exclusion of 'others' or 'outsiders'? This ★■◆● should have been called out long before Kasich got around to it.
aside to vision: I've said all along that Kasich is the one major GOP candidate I'd consider very seriously against the Dem candidate in 2016, which likely spells his doom in the GOP. He is too far left for them, and far too committed to the concept that government can serve the public good. On the other hand, his social policies do likely repel far too many Dems, but at the very least he could present a cogent argument without resorting to insults and the like.

Hitler was a much better speaker and way more charismatic. I think that's the reason most people are not taking anything Trump says seriously.

True, but his views on abortion and gun control really won't go anywhere. Those issues are in stalemate and that's why I pretty much ignore them when choosing a candidate. Those issues are good for establishing a base. I'm much more interested in the details of his economic policy and his views on modern issues like legal issues related to our electronic lives. Even Kasich's talk about repealing Obamacare is attached to "replacing" Obamacare, and I would love to hear his plan in detail.

Short bus kids gotta short bus. I wouldn't take him seriously at all. He is NOT going to be elected.
Oh...and I gotta do it before Ferno does-
Slick, you "Godwinned" this one quick.

those numbers will never hold up for Trump. I already offered a wager and you didn't have enough faith to take it, so that should be telling. I picked Kasich at the outset as I've always thought well of him. Woody seems unwilling to explain the message Trump is sending and that a chunk of his party is buying into.

But then I'm not a mouth piece for Trump.

Weird, I also picked Kasich and Webb and I'm a registered Independent. How do I get paid to promote someone other than Trump? You know who also loves Kasich and hates Trump? My friend's 84 year old Jewish hardcore conservative Republican father, who I've spent the last week with. Maybe he's an "operative" too?

they're out there everywhere, vision. Most people refer to this subgroup, leery of Trump, as 'sane', or perhaps 'rational'.

Wow, a poll with only 400 people. Remember when you berated a poll I listed with 800 people as being too small to mean anything.

yay, let's dig up the past (over and over again) and use it as a bludgeoning tool!
This is the kind of stuff that happens when someone says they should make a database of (insert race here) because you know... small numbers unrelated to the general populace of those who are in a completely different country.
Cue drumhead trial!
