A village somewhere is missing its idiot.

And it looks like a fair number of republicans think he's batshit.

That's funny. Quite a few democrats think freedom of speech is foolish too and should be regulated.

Trump was a democrat and probably really still is one at heart.

According to terrorism experts, he's also directly supporting ISIS and al-Qaeda recruiting with his batshit insanity. Anyone mind making the entire world a better place by putting him out of our collective misery?

the next step, for so-called conservatives, would seem to be the goose-step.

When will you figure out no one wants to see what you say?

Only Kyle Broflovski can shut down the internet.

how does pointing out the obvious become fascism? Fascism has nothing really to do with free speech rights, at it's core. Do you actually have any sort of clear grasp on what fascism entails, or has entailed over the past 75 years or so?

It does, on the other hand have a lot to do with authoritarian approaches to basic human rights and appealing to fearful, weakminded citizens by urging them to look for scapegoats. Not really Ferm's thing, but you do have one or two on the public stage calling themselves conservative that you could publicly rail against.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I have this sneaking feeling he's actually working for his friend, Hillary Clinton. Truth has often been stranger than fiction.

Someone noted that whenever Hillary seemed under pressure by some kind of negative slide in the polls or some revelation about her numerous scandals comes to light, here comes The Donald to the rescue with some kind of bats**t crazy pronouncement to make the GOP look bad.

Rather interesting coincidence.

After all, there is NO way in hell that Donald Trump is going to be the nominee, let alone the elected president. He DOES like being the center of attention though. It serves both Trump and Clinton in this way. He has some fun while she gets her butt covered and saved by his antics.

So this thread is based on some obscure blog written by some equally obscure person who calls herself a journalist. And all the village idiots jump on it as if real news.

um, no, Woody, it's written about Trumps own words. That a blog writer commented up them before I took it here is irrelevant, unless you wish to continue the Trump apologies.

Sorry slick, but you have too often derided non mainstream links as being valueless. So unless you can come up with a better source I will assume your post has no value.

edit: Also the video link does not work.

And here is a more responsible link:

http://www.nbcnews.com/tech/internet/do ... et-n476156

"We have to go see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what's happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that Internet up in some way."

Notice how Trumps is only talking about getting areas closed that support Islamist terrorism. Nothing stupid about shutting down websites that show you how to make bombs. Of course if you are a liberal self called journalist and want to paint Trump as stupid, then you can read his statement as such.

no, his followup, conveniently left out, described how people complaining about free speech rights were foolish. You know good and damned well that you cannot just 'shut down part of the Internet' in any effective fashion without squelching a lot of folks free speech. I guess this is the intellectual disconnect required to support Trump which you are displaying.

Well, you'll just have to provide a link to the follow up before I give any credence to your claim.

I can.

Wired, and Global News were the first two.

And here's a third. http://fortune.com/2015/12/08/donald-tr ... -internet/

Too many times. too many times you've been found out to be talking out of your ass, woody. You need to take a long long vacation from here. How about Costa Rica? I hear it's nice there this time of year.

Not only are most of the sites covering that event quoting him out of context, that url line in the OP is a total lie.

Just because someone is a fool, that doesn’t grant the right to twist what they say, if you have to twist someone’s words to make them seem worse than they actually are, you are no better than they are.

I would imagine the things that he says should say enough about him, without resorting to such things.

Did you watch the video? I'm guessing no, because if you did, you'd know the sites are not quoting him out-of-context.

The very site you posted reduces:

“We’re losing a lot of people because of the Internet,” Trump said. “We have to see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what’s happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that Internet up in some way.”

To:

Donald Trump Wants Bill Gates to 'Close That Internet Up’

That is the very definition of “out of context”.

Well...the problem is, the headlines and the other twists have defined the discussion, and not the actual words from Trump, and that is actually what is intended.
