Who'd a Thought

Thanks to the overbearing attitude of the Chinese towards the South China Sea, It now appears our once adversary Vietnam is drawing closer to us as a ally. With US warships now allowed to dock at Danang for joint military exercises, there is now talk of of allowing the US use of Cam Ranh Bay (Former largest US naval base in Vietnam). Ask me if I ever thought this possible 40 years ago and I would of laughed hysterically. Gotta love the stupidity of the Chinese and their lust to take control of clearly what is not theirs...thus alienating long time allies.

But But But…it’s called the “China sea” for a reason.

Yea, China is playing a dangerous and stupid game here.

actually, while it might have SEEMED unthinkable, a step back and look at history would suggest it rather likely. Good to see us maintaining and adapting to changes in realpolitik.

You mean how we sold out the Kurds so we could operate out of Turkey?

Edit: Oh- and another gem of a quote from John Kerry...
Kerry: 'Today Marks the First Day of a Safer World'
We shall see the "fruits" of the Iran deal soon...all too soon. They'll take the shape of more piles of dead bodies.

Well, we gave both Japan and Germany, vilified as evil empires by the U.S. at the time, 2 big cans of whoop-ass in WWII and now they are our friends and allies. Tells you something doesn't it? It's far better to make friends and allies we trust, instead of making enemies we distrust and have to watch constantly for threats.

Japan is just biding its time, someday they are going to try to get their face back.

They have already tried to destroy our economy.

And if you watch enough anime, you get the real picture of what they think of us.

China is already destroying our economy. With friends like that, who needs enemies.

looooooool

Seriously though, my brother went on a study-abroad trip to Vietnam a few years back, and according to him there are all sorts of US-backed business ventures in play there. Even if the military cooperation is more recent, we've had significant connections there for quite some time.

Spidey was talking about Japan....not Vietnam.

I, uh, realize that. Hence the "looooool." His statements are patently ridiculous.

No…I wasn’t judging Japan by their “cartoons” and just using that term proves you don’t know ★■◆●.

trying to wait out some stuff is futile, Fermo. Best to run with it, and have fun. :)
