Is that one of those 90 year old liberal Jews woody was referring to? You know she isn’t the only person here that worries about hate, but I think most of us have reached the conclusion that Trump is an idiot, and has very little chance of rebuilding the Third Reich.
Hail Hilter…
(for those who don’t know…sigma…that is a silly Monty Python reference)

she seemed to be addressing far more than Trump, but the entire climate that makes such utter stupidity tolerable.

Well, I would have read more of the article, but that convoluted website was raising hell with my browser.

Yes. The article reminded me of a passage I once heard.
"villains who twirl their moustaches are easy to spot. Those who clothe themselves in good deeds are well-camouflaged."

I posted here that you shouldn't be surprised at who becomes our next president and that he will be the complete opposite of what we had for the last 8 years. Maybe if the republicans in the house and senate followed their mandate when they were swept in with a majority, nad maybe if Obama would of worked closer with the GOP instead of saying Nein Nein Nein while beating on his desk, you wouldn't be faced with Trump winning the GOP nomination.

you act as if I'd be sad to see Trump get the GOP nod. See what E J Dionne wrote(I posted it). The only downside to the utter destruction of this recent bastardization of conservatism in the US is that we'll see one-party Democrat rule for a decade, and the excess that invites.

The bastardization of the GOP is brought about by what the voters perceive as getting too much in bed the the Dems. Why in gods name do you thin the top 2 GOP candidates are anti GOP? And while you keep prattling on about Kasich and Jeb, Let me remind you, you have the same issue with Webb. What you seem to ignore is the 20% of Dems that will vote for Trump...that is blue collar Dems and African American Dems. Those alone will tip the hat to Trump.

I see no sign that blacks will come close to going with Trump. He might get 15 percent on name recognition, but I've never seen any polling otherwise. Working white voters, maybe....but that is where I'd go with Sanders to face him, as on the real issues facing those voters, Sanders will mop the floor with Trump. Nontheless, his dismal numbers with Latinos(far bigger vote than black americans),middle class women, elderly voters will doom trump, and it isn't going to be remotely close. As I opined already, he could easily lose 45 states.

It would be fun to see him get nominated and then face the prospect of a legitimate Electoral College shutout.

If he gets nominated, its very likely the GOP will broker its convention. (if that's the correct term)

yup, the political wonk in me, having lived through Nixon nearly pulling it off, would be rooting for running the table. I don't think you'll yet see Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Missisippi or a couple of others go blue even if the GOP were running Satan himself. However, with Trump, Texas and some midwestern state are actually in play, and everything from Virginia north , the whole Pacific and Upper Midwest, Florida, Hawaii are given, which makes the strategy for the Dems much more aggressive...ie-you can focus on playing the game in the other team's territory.

wouldn't that, in essence, finish off the party as a major player? I mean, he takes the votes and then gets the nomination taken away? That is unprecedented in US politics, and I can't see the GOP surviving that ugliness.

not glowingly so, but at least a party can come back from a massacre(Dems won the White House after the McGovern blowout), but a permanent schism might not be survivable.

Why would it be permanent? I would think many would see it as a good move.
No, I don't think it would be a good idea if every state were to nominate Trump, just one of those possibilities I read about.

I think you are completely misreading me. If Trump were to merely carry the nomination process, he'd have received millions of votes in the primaries.
Then, would be destroyed by the 60% negatives he consistently receives in polls of the overall populace.
