As this topic has proven, disabling the use of images in EnC did nothing to curb this kind of behaviour. No one wanted to listen, though.

Anyway, images speak pretty loudly too. Why censor everything? Maybe you're afraid to address the issues brought up?

afraid? nope. I'm just commenting on the lack of premise and substance here.

Perhaps Ferno you missed the premis. Can you explain why western Christians are not flocking to emigrate to Muslim controlled nations but Muslims are flocking to emigrate to western nations. Try discussing that instead og knocking the OP.

uh, not really. Maybe he, like me, used to enjoy illustrating things with pics, but when asked by moderators to stop, we chose to. In other words, not about issues so much as about assholes.

I think the image ban is silly. The issue, to me, seems to be posting something without comment. The same thing is at play when posting a link to an article without comment. If you want to start a thread to discuss something, you should actually discuss it!

On topic, it's a bit hard to tell which opposing point the picture is trying to make. That Saudi Arabia is bad for their enmity towards Christianity, or that we in the west should have more enmity toward Islam.

We never disabled linking to images. We disabled embedding them. Images were being used as flamebait, and the same image linked to instead of embedded is much less inflammatory. It's probably why we rarely see people using images to flame each other now.

Disabling images wasn't intended to address someone starting a topic without any commentary though. I don't think there's a good purely technical solution to that.

yes that's what I meant. a much better solution would have been a per-user approach.

Our board's software doesn't do that, but it's pretty close to the way it is right now. Right now you just click on whichever images that you want to see. You can do that based on the user posting the image or whatever other criteria you'd like.
