I'm a realist. There's a better than good chance that Trump will get the delegates for the nomination and therefore hand the election to Hillary...but, hope can spring eternal even in the darkest night.Sergeant Thorne wrote:I hope for your sake the value of the shirt goes up when he doesn't get elected.
Which is too bad because I find Cruz somewhat more trustworthy and likeable than Mrs. Clinton even if I agree on his policies less. I think a Hillary/Cruz matchup would be closer than some people are comfortable with.Nightshade wrote:There's a better than good chance that Trump will get the delegates for the nomination and therefore hand the election to Hillary...
Yes it would. It would determine if our country has actually tipped into the abyss of socialistic decay or not.callmeslick wrote:actually, a Sanders v Cruz contest would be a referendum on the nature of our government that is sorely needed. Trump v Clinton will be the standard mud war with overblown personalities.
In fact, you are very afraid of any reforms or changes. Even positive.Nightshade wrote:Yes it would. It would show us in no uncertain terms if the majority of our citizenry want to totally hand over their lives to government or not.
Видимо у США дела совсем плохи, если приходится уповать на предательство.Китай скоро предаст Россию. Вы можете рассчитывать на это.
So? Only if it conforms to his ideals of a Christian Nation I'm will to bet. If you believe Cruz is really not wanting to push his Christianity on everyone else, why does this crazy fundamentalist religious billionaire family think so highly of Cruz? So highly that they gave his campaign a very large donation?Nightshade wrote:He respects the constitution TC. Yes, Nightshade, the hope dies last.
Once China is done taking Taiwan and the South China sea...they will turn north...to take the sparsely populated lands of far eastern Russia.sigma wrote:Yes, Nightshade, the hope dies last. And why it is you so worried about? I think, there is a much deeper historical interconnections and relationships of entire countries and nations, not to mention the proven outer periodic influence on mankind for such serious conclusions which you rush to do. Let's take another look at the map of world history and think about it.Nightshade wrote:Once China is done taking Taiwan and the South China sea...they will turn north...to take the sparsely populated lands of far eastern Russia.sigma wrote:Yes, Nightshade, the hope dies last. It's a good thing the *other* candidate supports adhering to the entire constitution...callmeslick wrote:indeed, TC. Cruz is only a supporter of certain PARTS of the Constitution, certainly not the entire document. That is the scariest of scenarios.
oh, one has utterly no idea what the 'other' GOP candidate really supports, or even understands at a Junior High school level. Also, the Dems push their favorite bits of the document, and overlook others, but at least accept the evolutionary aspects built in. Without that give and take, you end up,essentially, bound to a set of rules that simply won't work in the 21st century. There is much debate over whether the founders sort of intended the thing to become outmoded and subject to revisiting the whole Constitution over time. Jefferson surely saw it that way, it is unclear how many others agreed with him.Sergeant Thorne wrote:It's a good thing the *other* candidate supports adhering to the entire constitution...callmeslick wrote:indeed, TC. I personally don't give a rat's ass what the founding fathers thought. The Constitution is an agreement between the government and it's populace and needs to change as the people change, according to their values, beliefs, and what we learn about the world around us. The founders did their best at the time but could not imagine the world of today, nor see all the successes and shortcomings of the document they penned.callmeslick wrote:There is much debate over whether the founders sort of intended the thing to become outmoded and subject to revisiting the whole Constitution over time.
I agree.Sergeant Thorne wrote:Bull****.
I finally got what you meant after watching the news last night. I didn't know Boehner had the balls. Cruz has burned every bridge on the road to making the tea party happy.callmeslick wrote:well, it seems as if John Boehner won't be buying a shirt..........
