no unity with the administration....that's a given, but to blabber on about closing immigration when the person who committed violence had lived in NYC and Florida, shows no insight into the depth of issues he's wading into. Dolt.

And you forget that Trump said to temporarily ban Muslims until they could be vetted better. You also forget his father is a immigrant who sympathizes with the Taliban (who are killing our troops). So maybe Trump isn't the idiot you desperately want to paint him as.

You're forgetting that the Taliban were our allies, of convenience by the way, when they were fighting against the Russians. Maybe we need to choose our allies better, or quit fighting these idiotic proxy wars. We're getting ourselves into some seriously deep s**t and creating a lot more enemies in the process.

As for banning Muslim immigrants, that won't solve the problem either because we already have a large Muslim population. As of 2010, there were 2.6 million Muslims living in the U.S. Don't you think that they'll react negatively to Trump's hateful policies and perhaps take a little exception to essentially being called evil second class citizens that need to be watched? Trump's ideas would certainly piss me off if I were a Muslim. As for the shooter, he was the son of Afghanistan immigrants. He was born in the U.S. He was an American citizen. You can't tell me his parents were responsible for radicalizing him either. He did it all by his evil, hate-filled, homophobic self. The kind of person Trump is going to create a lot more of too.

just tweaking your ass. TC made the actual valid points before I checked it. The speech was: Amateurish, naive, self-centered and counterproductive. Still more proof for the thinking people of the US that the man is a clueless clown.

I think you're going to like this article. It discusses reagan and all of his misadventures. Sure, it's cracked.. but hey, it's pretty good.

no, in fact, it will be Hillary, because no one really wants to send in the clown to do the real work.

Good God that was good! And spot on. Thanks Ferno. Too bad no right-leaning, deluded American would ever believe a word of it, because it lays bare the epic failings of their exulted God of Conservatism.

I've had 8 years of reality. Perhaps if you stopped reading left wing propaganda as your news sources, you might understand.

don't have to do so, too.

Holy crap, that article is shocking. The number of top Republicans snubbing Trump basically confirms what I have suspected, that the current Republican power base feel it's much more important to maintain the status quo than get behind a populist, even if it means losing the White House for 4 years.

And yet I remember the same outrage when Trump made his illegal immigrant/wall comments back when he first started. Same people here and in the press said it was Trumps death knell and he wouldn't last 2 months. Look at how well your predictions turned out then.

One of the reasons I was supportive of Obama and happy with his administration from the outset is that it drew the blind rage of the extreme range of both the left and right wings. To my mind, that is representative of someone working for the vast bulk of us between the extremes.

A different view on how Obama is weak:
He laid waste to a field of straw men, cable-TV pundits and the always-evil “partisan rhetoric,” by which he means anyone who disagrees with him. It was a striking display of personal anger and pent-up grievances — and a total failure of leadership during a national crisis.

and that is one person's opinion. I'm willing to bet one can find at least 4 different opinions if one asked, say, more than a half dozen people. Your point? Or, is the real point that, once again, to avoid being caught in your own words, you rely on someone else's?

You can get even more defesive:

Republicans roundly rejected President Obama’s rationale for refusing to use the term “radical Islam” in describing terror attacks, responding that: “You have to define the enemy to defeat it.”

McCaul said “Churchill didn’t dance around the Nazis, he called it fascism,” while Presidents Reagan and Kennedy similarly confronted Communism.

Lets face it, Obama navel gazing and inability to define the enemy shows his piss poor ability to lead.

Let's see, a black man shows a little anger and he comes off as just an angry black man throwing a tantrum. A white man shows a little anger and he's making a principled stand. Uh huh. Yeah, right. Obama has shown far more restraint and control at the podium than Trump EVER has since he's started his presidential run. I'd say that makes Obama the better man and better leader and shows that Trump is an uneducated emotional idiot.
