I don't know if Fern has a leg to stand on. His country just elected a Hugo Chavez of the north.

I thought maybe you'd actually agree with the article, Thunderbunny, seeing as it's similar to your beliefs.

The article is (constitutionally, if anyone cares anymore) wrong about one thing: A 2/3 congressional vote can override an executive order.
Unless it's saying that their inability to get anything done is the reason that executive orders stand.

ITT: people commenting on the title without reading the article.

That said, it was a really good read.

It is an interesting read, but it pretty much ignores or completely glosses over the fact that while government "worked" when the political elite had power, it worked almost exclusively for those political elite and everyone else got left to fend for themselves at best, or ended up completely at the mercy of the political elite class.

I might agree with you, Krom, in principle, but if you go back to the middle of 20th century, the monied elites at least had a sense of social responsibility.
They realized that creating this massive gap between haves and have-nots has historically led to revolts with really bad results for everyone.

Well we are no longer in the middle of the 20th century. Which is why Trump now leads Hillary in the Rasmussen poll
