Too little too late

So after speaker Ryan backs all of Obama's open boarder policies, he now finds himself falling in the polls. So like a good slimy politician, he is now big on controlling the borders:
Following a new primary election poll showing that House Speaker Paul Ryan has plummeted to well below 50 percent in his home district, Ryan is out with new mailers assuring Wisconsin voters of his desire to secure the border, and urging them to support him in his contentious August 9th primary election.
Sorry Paul but it is too late for you. Just another Republican that didn't understand the will of the voters.

Oh, he understands alright. He just wants to step around the stinky orange Trump poop. I think deep down Ryan is a conservative who doesn't want to pander to the ~35% white male xenophobes who've long forgotten the history of what made this country great, which is the fact that it's made up of immigrants who've come together to build up what we have now.

exactly, TC. He's an actual thinking, evolving conservative, with strong principles. I don't agree with many of those, but he does at least go to the effort to flesh out ideas, and bend to compromises out of responsibility to ALL his constituents. He isn't in trouble with his constituents, here. He's in trouble with the EXTREMIST wing, which has taken over the dying ashes of the GOP. Sad, he's probably either try to form a true conservative party, down to the road, or lead the blue-dog Dem caucus.

TC, he was sucking up to Obama's policies long before Trump showed up. And slick, what the hell is a "evolving" conservative? A RHINO? Oh and the only reason you are rah rahing him is he was aiding Obama.

no, Woody, I've said that about Ryan since back when he ran for Veep.....that he was a conservative, willing to bend with public needs and priorities from a rigid ideology. That is what I described as evolving, as he's made it plain that he's trying to develop a conservative set of government principles that work for everyone.

oh, another trait of intelligent conservatives....they understand that borders refers to the boundries of our nation. Boarders refer to people paying to eat here.

Lol...spelling has little to do with intelligence.

no, but it's become clear you can be taught to spell or you can be taught to hate, but apparently not both:

Slick, perhaps you should take your grammar diatribe to Madison Ave...ever see how they spell?

they don't confuse boarder and border. Trust me.

But I don't trust someone who makes a big deal out of misspelling a word on a internet forum.

it isn't misspelling. You are simply not using the correct word. Don't care who you trust, or not, that is simply displaying ignorance.

These are borders.

As for how terrorists get here? Well, they wouldn't be in a refugee camp for the how many months it takes to sit and wait, and risk being caught by the vetting process. No. Because a terrorist has, among other things, is money. Money they use to buy an airline ticket. Money they use to buy fuel for the car they're in.

So they come here through legal means.

A wall isn't going to stop that.

Hell, I was listening in to some of the recap of the Convention while messing around with one of my computers. God, I thought my head would explode. I can't remember the speaker, but he was reminiscing about how Bill Clinton always worked with Republicans by meeting in the middle and that Hillary wasn't Bill and how Obama just went too far left to work with Republicans so that's why they hate him. Hah! I'd say that Bill Clinton in reality shifted to the right just to placate those whiny Republicans he had to deal with back then. Obama himself has moved to the right from a liberal perspective as well, although not enough, it sounds like, from all the Obama bashing being done at the Convention. Republicans now are so far right they're sounding like free market anarchists with delusions of Theocracy. There is no longer any chance of compromise, because to Republicans, compromise now means "My way is the only way and all things liberal should stamped out permanently".
