to understand ANY artist, you have to understand the context that generated the art. Part of Frost's was his personality. Yes, anecdotally, he was not appreciated by his neighbors. No one ever suggested he wasn't a great artist(poet, in this case). So was Van Gogh, and he was nuttier than a Trump supporter(or in the same ballpark), so was Munch, who was profoundly depressed, and writers like Tennessee Williams, Updike, Salinger and other American greats were generally working from a depth of personality, good and bad, that you seemingly wish to dismiss. The biggest problem with a wall along the southern border is the affect it would have on migrating wildlife.

Remember migrate simply means "to move".

Now if you do some research you would find out there are many animals that need to cross the southern border, such as wolves and jaguars…and yes, even peccaries.

Also elk and deer, wild hogs & boars, coyotes, and tons of smaller mammals and reptiles that are food for other species. Animals give no shits about human political constructs. The don't see borders.

Lets not confuse local range or territory with migration. Elk, Big Horn Sheep, Mountain Goats may migrate from high country to the valleys as the seasons change. I don't see the southern border being part of their migration pattern (haven't looked up information on the Desert Big Horns to see if they are impacted). Wolves and coyotes have territories and the wall may impact their territory but since they do not migrate there is no impact on that idea.

Now having said that if I was a good little liberal environmentalist, I'd look at endangered species and see if the wall would impact them. Hint...start with the Desert Tortoise.

Grendel, the 2 links show the problems inherent with setting up a fence and segmenting populations. Still this has nothing to do with a back and forth yearly migration of species like you see in wildebeests in Africa or the yearly migration of snow geese. I have to take exception to the author in the second link where she use the term migration in lieu of range expansion for wild felines. Cats have territories and as their population increases the younger cats have to go to new areas to set up their territories. This is not migration. This is range expansion. A species range can increase or decrease from a number of factors such as habitat destruction or food availability. At any rate the links are good information. Best thing to stop the wall from being built...stop the flow of illegals by other means.

William Radke, the author of the paper you cited (in which he does not even use the term migration) does not make the quote and here is the complete quote:

Clever of you to omit the whole of the phrase so it sounds like it is coming from Radke instead of from the Reuters reporter. I suggest you read your cited paper where Radke does not mention migration once. He does mention the environmental impact of the smugglers and illegals crossing the border. The closest he comes is using the term pioneer species like the jaguar but that is just another term for territorial expansion. Yes he says that the lights on the wall "may" impact migratory birds but then we have that problem with city lights. I expect that putting up light fixtures that shine down on the ground and not up into the sky will help to minimize the impact on night navigating birds.

I suggest you understand or read more completely what you are linking. This last post of your reminds me of the Truffle hunter you cite as a global warming expert, who bought some environmental software and was blogging about his findings. I'm beginning to suspect you have no college degree in any science and just troll up things off the net that seem to support your direction of thought.
