A Tent Too Big

Post by Vander »

There aren't too many things that would lead me to vote for Trump over Clinton, but I think she's really trying to find one.

Why Is Hillary Clinton Bragging About This Endorsement?

ummm, kind of an article written with an ax to grind. One can sort of tell that because at no time has Clinton 'bragged' about the support, specifically of Negroponte, and in fact, most realize that the GOP hawk support is mainly for two reasons:
1. They strongly feel Trump is a clear danger to the nation, based on temperment and lack of knowledge or willingness to gain it.
2. They might have some wishful thinking for input, but most of their words don't seem to indicate any concurrance of thinking.

seriously, Vander, do you have any idea that Negroponte's realpolitik will be the way the next administration works? Is that how the current one has worked?

The Clinton Campaign issued a statement on the endorsement. The debate on the semantic differences between publicly declaring an endorsement and "bragging" is that way. ---->

Please do not misunderstand me. My issue is not that I think this guy is going to end up in her cabinet or have any great influence. My issue is that by touting his endorsement, it is a tacit admission that his actions (and by extension, ours) in Central America were acceptable. Our side should be shunning the likes of Negroponte, not pimping his endorsement. Who's next? Ollie North? Paul Wolfowitz? I know Kissinger is waiting in the wings, and that's probably a bridge too far for me.

I get that the prospect of Trump is making for strange bedfellows, but jeez, it doesn't mean I want the light on.

I'm pretty sure Trump just dropped his name because they talked once.

I'm still wondering about the benefits of this. Are there really conservatives on the fence who would be swayed by an endorsement like this? Clinton is already the "sane" candidate. Or rather, she's the one who might be wrong, but would be wrong within certain acceptable limits from an establishment point of view.

That's all it take to make Trump ammo for some negative TV ad. Someone spoke to someone years ago who, GASP!, who happened to be a Marxist murderer rebel! Egads! Stop the presses! Blow up the internet! Kaine is now a commie pinko in the eyes of every conservative flamebaiter in the country. You know how Americans freak out at any suggestion of someone being a socialist sympathizer.

As for Clinton, Negroponte is more proof that she's just a NeoCon in Dem clothing. Gads, were are so screwed.

My question is why did Kaine go down to visit a Marxist priest espousing liberation theology? Did he believe in the theology, did he believe in the Marxist led rebels? Just who we want as POTUS if Hillary's head seizes up again but more permanent like.

Marxist, a nice and yummy dog whistle word for all those crazy conservatives. One utterance and they all freak out in unison.

Well the priest was a Marxist and Kaine did get chummy with him...so why is that bait? Bait is bringing up someones 20 year old, properly prepared tax returns. Drives you Dems mindlessly incoherent.

So you're going to focus on something Kaine did 36 years ago while he was doing his religious service and he happened to have contact with a Marxist Priest? How quaint, like that small interaction years ago is going to turn someone into a Marxist Commie today. Give me a break.

I'll tell you what's important NOW. Trump's finances, since he WILL be overseeing our country's finances if he manages to get his orange ass elected. You tell me how a single human being, who loses 900 million dollars in one fell swoop and can deduct it legally on his income taxes, is still sitting pretty in money today? No one, I mean NO ONE, loses that kind of cash and stays afloat unless he has cash hidden offshore somewhere to prop him up in case of emergency. Daddy's cash too, I'll bet. And I'll tell you what, we're never going to find that out those monetary details even if Trump were to release his Income Taxes, because that kind of crooked crap is firmly hidden from government view. What we really need is Trump's wealth information, the kind of stuff that's spoken about only in cloistered private wealthy cocktail parties, because anything else we get out of him and these rich fat cats who run things from Wall Street is always "corrected" for public consumption. I can guarantee you that someone like Trump cares a rat's ass about the common working man too. You're just as screwed as everyone else if you vote for that guy.

I heard the other night that most of that loss was real estate deprecation, so not true business losses per se.

It was explained as taking a one time deduction.

Heh. We definitely wouldn't want a Vice President with such sympathies. If he ever became President, he might not sponsor death squads to keep local populations properly terrorized to exploit their natural resources for the profit of the few.

What would we tell the children?

Of course, a simple meeting doesn't mean he has such sympathies, and it's ridiculous to think otherwise.

Uhhh, so for how many years has he been taking this "deduction"? 18 years!!! That money had to come from someone or somewhere in the first place. Money isn't free. It's always someone else's money these bastards play with too, not their own. When Trump won with his sleazy deal, someone else lost their shirt. Plus, the U.S. taxpayer lost out on his legal scheme as well. Now, do you think he'd get rid of such a lovely legal gift horse if he became president? Not in a million years, suckers.
