- because all the signs are that he may not have.

Putin’s Activation of ‘Iskander-M’ Ballistic Missile Is a Message to Obama
The KGB officer in the Kremlin seeks one last, grand strategic humiliation for our president before he leaves office
The KGB officer in the Kremlin seeks one last, grand strategic humiliation for our president before he leaves office

It’s long been obvious that Vladimir Putin and his inner circle view Barack Obama with utter contempt. To the hard men in Moscow, who got their schooling in the KGB, our diffident, wordy Ivy League lawyer president is a weakling—almost a caricature of everything they despise about the postmodern West.

It'll be worse if Hillary gets in.

So you don't want Hillary to be president because she could start a fight with Russia, but you also hate Obama because he didn't start a fight with Russia.

I'd love to hear conservatives answer that one without tying themselves up in knots.

Completely wrong. You really are clueless aren't you?

Obama STARTED a fight with Russia over Ukraine...and now Syria. The man could get us all killed with his hubris.

By being weak, Obama set up the conditions for Russia and china to be aggressive. Hillary is also weak, perhaps fatally so in regards to our country.

I suspect that we will all be pleasantly surprised as the whole world will sigh with relief and flourish without constant American threat outright interventions, invasions, tyranny and aggression against other countries, lies and fakes in the media and regular provocations real global war.
If this is some the American entertainment, it's lousy entertainment.

so, Obama should have allowed Russia to annex the Ukraine(all of it) without pushback? And, Syria?

Woodchip, my advice to you. Forget about the media and politics for a while. If it is possible, take a small vacation and go to where you would like to gain new positive experiences.
For example, I recently returned from sea fishing. I caught a lot of beautiful saltwater fish, including some species that previously I did not come across. I do not know for you, but for me fishing is one of the fabulous treats :)
P.S. This year I did not go to Thailand, so hello from the Black Sea!
P.P.S. The picture from mobile phone.
P.P.P.S. I'll always be glad to your photos too :)

No.

Russia did not have to annex Ukraine nor even take Crimea had there not been a US backed overthrow of the previous government. And don't tell me that Syria's people wouldn't rather have had the stable state under Assad continue to exist rather than the murderous chaos they have now.

Suppose the US-friendly government in Canada had been overthrown and it was found out that Russia backed the coup. What would the USA's response be in that situation?

Tell me Slick, because I want to know.

I can tell you what the answer to that would be. You wouldn't even hear about it because it would be stopped before it even started.

So I try to posit an analogous situation to illustrate Russia's reaction to a threat...and Ferno replies...

"no...because...superman!" (essentially.)

As long as we are using our imagination, how exactly do you think that would happen? Overthrown by whom? How? What would be the context and basis for such a thing? You are trying to draw equivalence where there is none. I'm more than happy to indulge you in this fantasy for the sake of argument but be warned you will lose.

Do you even know how and why the conflicts and Syria and Ukraine are different from each other and why you can't compare the two?

Making up questions I didn't ask eh?

They started differently, but in both we are BACKING the WRONG SIDE. In fact, it's best if we had zero involvement in either instance to begin with.

In Syria we're backing jihadists...and in Ukraine, we're backing corrupt forces with neo-nazi ties. How is this not stupid?

The last thing I would do is accidentally offend you, but you're stupid or what? If Russia wants to, it can do with the United States all that she wants. Once again, I ask you, why should you provoke? With Russia's dangerous to play these games. Morons. I already feel that many people want to take revenge on USA for all past grievances.
