It was bound to happen eventually. That said, it would make descent so much easier :)

Dead link here.

Edit: Now it works. Very interesting. But it seems a little too dangereous since things get connected directly to the brain.

I came up with this idea like 20 years ago, before I was born...

It would "intercept" your brain electric singal thingies like, if you want to move you finger, you try, and it moves it in the game but not you in real life. that way you would go running around the room hacking up invisable zombies with your invisable axe.
now that would be SWEET. so like you're just laying there drooling but in your mind you're seeing an action paqued video game!

oh yeh and it would project the image drectly into your brain instead of your eyes... god dam this idea is so great....

they need to make it so whatever you do, it does. That way you could like, get a workout AND play a video game at the same time!

hmmm.... i guess you just say to yourself "turn off" when your in the game or something... I never really thought about that...

but you would have to wear buttplugs because all of your bodily commands would be intercepted, including sphincter muscle contraction and peni pressure.

and you would also get to feel stuff in the VR world because it would send those electrical signals to your brain.... damit i think I stole this ★■◆● from the matrix... n/m

I think they need to perfect artificial vision first. And theyve actually gotten quite far along in that. I think there was a story on wired a year ago or so about a blind man who could see again with these special glasses and a powerpack with an uplink to his optic nerves. He couldnt see nearly as clearly as you or I, or even as clearly as the latest in high tech cameras, but he could see well enough that he could be self sufficient.

Looks like that Visor that Geordi LaForge wears in Star Trek isnt so far off. Which I think is very neat.

I'm pretty sure that Vader meant in the sense of allowing blind people to see again. I don't see anything nerdy about that.
