not actually a plan yet....

...as, I'm sure Woody will quickly point out. Still, the idea that this would have any traction given the value of the data produced to the US and the world, is sort of unsettling.

Slate is a leftist site. You give credence to this? Yet you denigrate Breitbart whenever they are sourced.

is the report TRUE, Woody? Cut the bull★■◆●. I challenge Brietbart when the stuff is provable as FICTION.

Nope, you wave Breitbart as a bad site because of what happened years ago. Never hear you complain about NBC for the lies Dan Rather made up of CBS for artfully omitting portions of interviews.

did the appointee make the statements attributed to him? Yes, or no? I'll gladly go and find that back quote but first, there's football to watch.

It's funny how you lefties twist things around. A adviser makes a suggestion which then turns out to be fact.:
Bob Walker, who advised the Trump campaign on space policy, told the Guardian that NASA should focus on space and leave the investigation of Earth to other parts of the government.

“We see NASA in an exploration role, in deep space research,” Walker said. “Earth-centric science is better placed at other agencies where it is their prime mission.”

So once again I suggest you stay away from rabid left wing sites as they will only grow hair on your palms.

American conservatives don't like science, period. It's bad for business, plain and simple.

so, by your own quoted bit,he feels 'other agencies' ought to do earth based research, however, NASA is the key to data collection for those agencies, as well as others around the world.

Riggght…

Because a great deal of science and engineering is actually done by industry, and industry couldn’t survive without it.

yea...science is bad for business....

OK, Spidey, l've kind of overgeneralized here. Let me rephrase. Republicans don't like science IF it's BAD for business, or it goes AGAINST Christian religious beliefs. Anything GOOD for business is always great and wonderful. If that science doesn't do anything good or bad for business, then meh, who cares, no funding. However, anything that's great for the military is paramount above all else.

Say what? Climate change? It's caused by trees and is bad for the energy industry. Deny it and keep right on polluting the air and water with carbon emissions and coal dust residues until we poison ourselves and kill off those damn trees. Fracking polluting our ground water and causing earthquakes? The science is dead WRONG. Keep going for more oil and gas because it's good for business. Intelligent Design? BAH! Put it in science class because it's not religion, it's fact and it belongs there. Abortion? Causes birth defects and cancer, despite the science that proves that wrong. Evolution? It's against Jesus and can't work anyway because the Earth is only 6 to 9 thousand years old! At least according to the Republicans.
