Will Cuban immigrants still Dance

So Obama has waited until the waning days of his presidency to shut the door on Cubans getting a free pass if they can get to the shores of America:
PANAMA CITY: “Obama has screwed all Cubans,” Yadiel Cruz, a Cuban in Panama bitterly told Agence France-Presse on Thursday upon learning the US president has suddenly made it tougher for migrants like him to get into America.
Much of the fury was directed personally at US President Barack Obama for announcing that he has scrapped, with immediate effect, a 1995 policy that had given near-automatic entry to the US to Cubans who set foot on American soil, regardless of their visa status.
I suspect to the Cuban Americans, this single act will be his crowning legacy. I suspect also that come next election cycle, a large portion will not be voting Democratic. No wonder the Dems are in such a poor state of affairs.

Mexicans crossing border bad, Cubans crossing border good. Got it.

I for one will miss the water craft cobbled together from 57 Buicks.
seriously, Woody, though: do you think we need to encourage folks risking life and limb if we're normalizing relations? Do we have that policy with, say, Mexico and Guatamala? If you think Cuban voters will sway in some major way coming elections, think of how it feels to Mexicans to see a President treat others by the same policies as they've dealt with? Lots more Mexicans than Cubans here and even more important, the VAST majority of the electorate doesn't share your hangup.
I understand how you still resent the Cuban ties with Russia. That sort of dalliance with known enemies of the US should never be tolerated, right?

Hmmm. I wonder if we have that policy with Venezuela or even China? A commie state is a commie state.

Ask the Cubans that risked their lives if they thought it wasn't worth it. Now with a visa program the Cubans will have to apply and I suspect their govt will not allow them to leave.

The difference being the Cuban will be coming here legally while the Mexicans will not.

You know nothing Jon Snow.

umm, no, the Mexicans and Cubans will have the same exact legal processes and acceptance criteria now. Why lie?

Why be to bleedingly blind. Mexicans can walk and sneak across the border. Unless the Cubans are Jesus Christ, I suspect they'll have a hard time doing the same.

right, and we don't welcome either, legally, right? Isn't that supposed to be how it works? I mean, no one rewrote the law for the Mexicans, or Central American(who may be able to walk, but if you don't know the danger that entails, go and read up a bit) natives, who quite arguably are fleeing worse fates than any contemporary Cuban, by far?

Start making SOME semblance of logical sense and showing some consistency of thought.

Basic logic probably does seem like incoherence to you, doesn't it?

Whichever one is dangling a juicy little carrot over your head at the moment. Right now the carrot happens to be vaguely hair-shaped.

How obtuse. As they say in Texas, all hat, no cattle. You have a tough time answering a question or do you just find it easier to throw out meaningless generalities?

I simply feel no need to state the obvious. You've been led by the nose by any number of guides for as long as I've been reading your posts here, and the amount of sheer nonsense you peddled during this election cycle pretty much speaks for itself. The reason I keep dropping the voting line is because I genuinely believe that people as ill-informed as you have absolutely no business affecting the long-term viability of my and my descendants' country. Wallow in your ignorance if you please, but limit the damage to your own self.
