At least somebody can explain what is expressed in the so-called "Russian threat"?

Amusing. Within a few hours no one could explain it.
You can continue to keep watching the news about Donald Trump, because the Western media simply do not have anything else.

Amusing that a question posted in the middle of the night didn't get answered by early morning.
The Russia threat, as I see it now, is Russia supporting the rise of right wing nationalists across the West.

good response, and explain about time differences. I see a further Russian threat in the determination to return to the world to a place where a handful of 'superpowers' dictate the lives of the global populace(with, of course, Russia being one of those superpowers, an economic joke to be honest). They are using the wedge of right-wing nationalism to attempt to weaken the Western alliances, and have worked to destabilize or prolong regional conflicts by way of distraction from the larger purpose.

It seems odd that former commies would want to empower right wing governments…not saying it’s not true…just damn odd.

because, the ideology is not communist anymore, Spidey. The players may have been players in a Communist regime, but many are post-Communist oligarchs with political puppets. They want a restored national dominance over a vast region, and if they can use right-wing groups to destabilize the opposition, that is just fine. We are talking opportunists not ideologues, here.

Still sounds like a strategy that could bite them in the ass.

Actually, the number of Muslims in Russia has passed all reasonable limits. But the authorities are still yet Russians. You must pray that there are no second-Stalin.

Maybe, maybe not. Putin hated Hillary and has pretty much let it be known that he likes Trump, who's shown everyone in the world that he's an unknown, unstable and volatile leader and at the worst, a
potential Russian asset. Of course, the simple answer could be that Putin is sitting back and relishing in the chaos he threw into our political system, all with the larger purpose of making us an inept and hobbled world power. I'm betting on the second reason.

TC, it isn't just OUR system he is meddling in. We're just the biggest prize.

If all the western countries become right wing and present a unified front to the Rooskies, what has Russia gained? I would think the Russians would want the west to be more passive liberal instead of gun toting conservatives.

because right wing NATIONALISTS don't tend to be cooperative.

It my mind, it's not necessarily about the ideology. It's about sowing the division both within countries, and between countries. Right wing nationalism is a practical target. To be clear, I'm not saying Russia has created any of the problems various countries are dealing with that have fomented political upheaval, but I think they are stoking it.
There's a certain karmic justice about it all.

Sometimes it simply amazes me dishonesty, deceit and greed of Americans.

Slick, it has nothing to do with your words. It's just the American vestige of the conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union of the 20th century who inexplicably moved to 21.

Sigma, I like you, but you know absolutely NOTHING about what your own government is doing to other Democracies outside of Russia. You wouldn't know because your own press is nothing but a propaganda wing of your government and will thus remain silent on anything anti-Russia or anti-Putin. They'll
never tell you about what's going on
within your own government because Putin doesn't want it known. All your people get for "news" is pro-Russia, pro-Putin propaganda. Maybe you should go talk to some of your own country's anti-Putin dissidents, at least the ones who haven't been assassinated yet, and figure it out for yourself. Unless you are afraid of being targeted by Putin as an enemy of the state that is.
