Betrayal

At least one of those much hyped Trump campaign promises has finally evaporated. It was inevitable that it couldn't be kept as well. Carrier had already invested in building that large plant in Mexico long before Trump came along, puffed up his chest and promised those workers the moon. So even Emperor Trump can't stop the inevitable march of capitalism and the movement of those Carrier manufacturing jobs to a country that pays it's workers far less than the U.S. does.
Donald Trump - 12/1/2016 wrote:"And by the way, that number is going to go up very substantially as they expand this area, this plant, so the 1,100 is going to be a minimum number."

...."You're going to have a good Christmas."
Well, it's not going to be so good of a 4th of July for those Indianapolis workers now, is it? I asked in another post what it would take to make Trump lovers sour on Trump? This is the first wave.

actually, all Trump did was provide cover for them to lay off several hundred OTHER workers, and for support businesses to go through with their layoffs. Then, to quietly come back and do what they planned all along. Oh, and Indiana gave them that 7 million dollar gift, to do a photo op.

Trump's hidden tax break. Corporate graft courtesy of the taxpayer. I wonder why the people of Indiana aren't throwing a fit about this one? Oh, my mistake. They voted for Trump and are still hoping for a miracle as they watch this train wreck transpire. The gravity of their mistake just hasn't hit home yet.
