those lazy, ungrateful Puerto Ricans

....is it just me, or is anyone else both as embarrassed and disgusted by the US leadership as they ever have been? Trump should be escorted to that island and left, with his bad toupee and cell phone(no tweets until cell service is restored) until the great businessman gets this right. To be honest, from much of what I've seen, you might need a large scale evacuation, if the agricultural hit and infrastructure hits are as bad as feared. Trump's response, from a ★■◆● Golf Club, was beneath the lowest level of humanity.

I knew even the deafening roar of consecutive hurricanes and earthquakes couldn't drown out Trumps bull★■◆● for more than a few weeks.

As Commander in Chief, he could've gotten his butt off his little golf course long enough to make a command decision and send in the military right away to get things rolling immediately. Then get FEMA up to speed. So now when it's apparent he preferred to drag his fat ass around a golf course while Puerto Rican Americans suffered and died, he's going to blame them because they were just a bunch of lazy bastards who were sitting in the middle of a BIG ocean and who made poor little Donald Trump look like an epic failure. Heaven forbid Mr. Giant Orange Ego ever take any blame for his own incompetence. The lesson to take away from this? Other than learning from past mistakes and for heavens sake, correcting them, I never want to hear again another Republican griping about a Democratic President playing golf during a time of crisis when they can't stand up and complain about the same thing when their boneheaded president does it AND triples down to boot. I think now is the time for an obscure little nickname that some obscure reporters coined about Obama way back whenever and which never caught on, to now be applied to our current golfer in chief, Trump:

"The First Duffer"

Serious question: Is he the President of the United States or President of the United States and it's territories? Is this a grey area in our culture?

last I heard, he is President of ALL CITIZENS, no matter where they live.

It'll be great when he's finally rotting in hell and we can all line up to literally ★■◆● on his grave. I'll wear my fancy underwear and everything!

This doesn't answer my question. This is a new area for me. According to this definition, the role of the United States government is rather ad hoc when it comes to its territories. Puerto Rico is in the middle of a humanitarian crisis, and rather than simply blaming Trump (which is both easy and fun!) I am curious to read a discussion on who is actually responsible, what is the breadth of their responsibility, and is today's aid response appropriate and in line with previous responses.

the citizens of Puerto Rico VOTE in the Presidential election in the US. That should clarify a bit. Or, at least as much as needed to answer your question.

When you all can spare a moment to stop focusing on the clowns, i have a feeling you'll realise that you are the issue, not them.

You got us there, although I personally didn't vote for the moron, so my conscience is clean. However, as an American citizen, I still feel dirty in the eyes of the world.

You can bet your bottom dollar they ain't going to be voting for Trump in the next election, that is, IF Trump is even still around for the next election.

What about the morons that voted for the moron that lost to the moron in the end?

Well, I guess in the end it means we're all morons, because out of all the candidates that were foisted upon us in the primaries, every one of them was a moron.

I really am tired of that bull★■◆● false equivalence after the fact. For all her myriad faults, there was only one remotely-sane choice in the end, and to suggest otherwise is sheer lunacy.

OK, let me preface that. We had a choice between 2 main candidates in the election. All the other ones were essentially throwaway votes, one of which I voted for because the 2 major party choices were lousy options. One was clearly a dangerous egomaniac with delusions of grandeur and a short temper. One was clearly an arrogant elitist who was so sure of being victorious that she didn't feel the need to lower herself down to the average American's level and do the leg work needed to win. In my book, that makes them both morons unworthy of the office.

But see that's the exact attitude that gets fuckholes like Trump elected in the first place. "Oh, they both suck, so it doesn't matter who I pick." Yes, 95% of politicians are petty assholes, this isn't breaking news. But only one of those two choices met even the basest standards of mental competence, which in and of itself put her miles ahead of the alternative.

Nice try slick. You know the real problem was the DNC picking Hillary Clinton and then blocking out the real candidates. If the DNC wouldn't of thought HRC time was come and deserved the shot, you would of seen a lot more candidates running. Want to blame somebody? Try DWS or better yet blame lop eared Obama for 8 years of didactic liberal dithering or the main stream press for not doing their job. As I predicted years ago, someone would come along and be the polar opposite of what the Obama years created. That opposite is Trump so you only have to blame yourself for being part of the liberal play dough factory.

Look at it this way, I voted my conscience because I just didn't like either of them. It didn't matter in the end because I knew Hillary would win in Oregon, which she did. In fact, I THOUGHT she was going to win the election, period. I assumed that most people wouldn't be so stupid as to vote for a complete moron who's also a narcissistic, egomaniacal, short tempered womanizer, right?

I'll have to agree with you that Trump is the polar opposite of Obama. But it's not going to ever be in a good way.
