Board update.

Updated the board to the newest version of phpbb, with additional features and security updates. Note, the old DBB default theme is not compatible with the new version so I had to uninstall it. However if someone is interested in cobbling it back together, I can supply a test board to update it to work with the new version. Fixing it should be fairly straightforward and only take a day or two, but a lot of features even from the previous version of the board were missing in the default theme so I highly recommend using this default theme (which also plays well on mobile devices).

Looks even better. Thanks Krom. But now I have to get used to the new look and where all the controls are now.

I've been using this theme pretty much since I originally upgraded the board to 3.x, specifically the green 2 variant (available in the board settings in the user control panel). I run at 150% zoom on it and with the somewhat muted text contrast it causes a lot less eye strain. Also it exposes all the board features and is pretty well organized, so that helps.

Nice work, though the default theme admittedly takes some getting used to. Do we not have a quick reply option, or am I just missing something?

Quick reply has never been enabled, although it is an option if there is popular demand for it.

Heh, I guess I was getting this place confused with my other haunts. I'd definitely welcomeit if it wasn't much trouble.

Are you gonna replace the default phpbb logo?

I prefer the new look, except I wish it read "DescentBB" at the top. Can you make the red buttons and letters yellow instead?

Honestly I'm happy with this change! The old site hurt my eyes with the light blue on black text, I'd start seeing spots after a while of reading it.

This definitely makes it easier to stay up-to-date even with the stone-age web browser my crapphone uses.

I have word censoring disabled in my profile options, but I'm still seeing it on certain potent phrases.

It is a bug in this version of phpBB related to the text-formatter, it will be fixed in the next official release.

Is the favicon tied into the theme? Looks like that's gone as well.

Good catch. It is not tied to the theme, but when I do updates I usually completely wipe out the existing structure (save for the avatars/attachments) in order to make sure everything gets updated properly and I forgot to restore the icon. Fixed, although it may take a while for the browsers to check again.
