So Trump wants to rescind ALL of California's strict auto emissions regulations, as part of his gutting of the EPA. What the HELL is wrong with this idiot? He can't even leave older GOOD Republican legislation alone. He's got to trash that too. There is no excuse for this bull★■◆● from a leader who's supposed to protect the people of this nation. I'm sorry, but we re-elect this guy, we're all good as dead.
I was down in the LA basin a couple of weeks ago and even with California's current stringent air quality standards, it was smoggy, although nowhere near as bad as it was during the 1960's. Portland, Oregon occasionally gets that way when there's an air inversion. I remember those bad old air days when I was a kid. Most of the time in the summer, the air was so thick and putrid you could cut it with a knife. LA was so bad breathing by itself was dangerous. In Denver, you couldn't even see the Front Range. I certainly don't want to see that nastiness return anytime soon, at least for the sake of our kids.

And in case anyone here is a little too young to remember or have experienced what our city's air, and water for that matter, looked like back in those days, take a good gander. The first picture isn't even of Los Angeles.
