Looks interesting, though I'm mostly disappointed with modern attempts at 6DOF
Out of curiosity though, why not just drone IRL...
Looks cool,
Right?

The question is do the drones in this game fly like ships in Descent (completely ignoring gravity so they are able to fly or hover in any orientation), or are they more like a real life drone (can only hover upright) or collective pitch helicopter (can only hover upright or fully upside down)...

There's a demo on Steam which should answer your questions.. I didn't realize, gonna have to check it out myself..

3D quads have been a thing for a bit now... Not sure how it equates to CP helis, it's not nearly as terrifying, that's for sure. Building a 3D quad is on my personal to-do list for sure.

Quick answer after 5 minutes of play is that so far you can hover inverted or upright, and in any pitch orientation, but strangely there is a strong and nearly immediate autolevel applied to the roll axis ...but only when you are in a conventional horizontal orientation (either upright or inverted).

The game looks great and has got my interest. My question is, based on the fact that drones use propellers to fly and maneuver, what drives them in the vacuum of space? I saw some of the demos were in asteroid fields, where there's no air. Retro jets or something?
