Dave,
Nah, that's how they come. It costs a bit more for the lam stock, but worth it to me. I think they're nice looking.

I suggest you do some research on Sightron. I looked at the VXIII and compared it to this glass and the Sightron blew away the VX III in clarity and warranty. Not to mention, the Leupolds are two piece tubes and the Sightrons are one.

pwned!

Very Nice!! you done good on the stock, very nice one
:D To bad I don't live a little closer we could go out and terrorize the vermin :)

Now do me a favor and break the barrel in.
Take some paper to the range with you and set it up at 100yds.
5 shots, copper-out and clean, rinse and repeat till the groups are under 1 moa.

The first 5 shot group I shot out of my Swift was about 2-1/2" :o But after about 40 rounds (8 cleanings) she was down to .75" with factory ammo. I think it's well worth the time and effort.

There are so many opinions on how to break-in a barrel. I've done the old fashioned 3 group clean..5 group clean.. etc.
I'm going to see how she does this evening and I'll report back to ya. I may end up hand-lapping if this sucker won't group. You know how it goes... 2 off the same line will shoot completely differently.

Thanks for the compliments, I thought she was a beaut! If you're ever in Cali look me up. I'll take you to a place with so many vermin that you'll be bored of shooting in an hour.

Will,
Hollywood is the typical out-of-staters' guess, but I was talking about San Fran!

Okay, I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed with the initial results. It produced 1/3 inch groups with factory ammo(junk) out of a warm barrel.
I'm working on a handload tomorrow that will close it down. I want 1/4 MOA MAX!! :D

Will report back in a day or so.
