Yes folks, that is a dime. :)

Komp, I took it to my smith and he lapped the barrel, re-cut the crown, 2 lbs trigger job, glass bedded and floated the barrel. Man, what a difference. The pics speak for themselves.

wow! you got a keeper their, nice clover leaf :D
One of the reasons I got the VLS {EDIT: VS, doh} was the HS-Percision stock and the aluminum block bedding it comes with. But, I like the black stock with the white spider web and I don't have to worry about scratching it ;) But that lam of your's sure is purdy :)

I'm pretty sure it will do better. That was with factory crap ammo, too. I'll start working up a load for her next week and see if I can bring them in closer.

Those H&S stocks are unbeatable, imo. They do the stocks for the PSS too.

Damn nice group for factory ammo :) I'm sure you can tighten that up. I'll check around and see if I can find out what loads some of the guys are shooting, might be able to save you some time.

I had a load worked up for the Swift using match bullets that would group 5 shots inside a dime. To bad Match bullets suck for hunting :( So I went to the V-max bullets for hunting, they don't group as well (about 5/8") but thay are hell on those ground hogs :) Turns them into Jello

You're using the ballistic tip?

I'm using the Hornady 55gr V-Max bullets They're not really a ballistic tip as we think of them. They are designed for varmit hunting and will expand at long ranges under low velocity. Plus they will hold together under high rotational velocity, so for my Swift, they are the perfect bullet :D The link has good information on them. I got some 50gr V-max moly coated but I haven't had a chance to load them yet, I'll let you know when I do.

The trouble with the HPBT match bullets is that they are designed to shoot paper, I've found over the years of using them that sometimes they expand and sometimes they don't :(

I shot a nice 6 point white tale with a .308 165gr HPBT match bullet once. The bullet went through the front leg bone, a rib, through the top of the heart and then extited through a rib. The entrance and exit holes were the same size  If I wouldn't of hit it in the heart it would of got away. So I don't use them anymore. I've tried the .224 match bullets and they are pretty much the same, they shoot damn nice but they are not consitent on expansion.

I've shot over 200 ground hogs with the V-max bullets and so far nothing that I've hit has got away 8) But ground hogs are bigger then p-dogs so they should work well on dogs too. Try em, you'll like em :)
