Am I A Bad Musician?

Because I am NOT going to see Van Halen this year? I looked at some of the early show reviews and I was not fond of the set list they seem to be playing this year. It's heavy Sammy Hagar / keyboards era and I don't care for that time period. Anyone in here get to see them? From what I've read, it's a mixed experience, some love it, some say it's all bad cept for his solo spot. I don't know, I felt like I should pay some kind of homage to one of the kings, but their tour this year just seems kind of cheesy. Their set includes a total of just 5 songs from the DLR era. That is straight up blasphemy in my opinion. One song off of Van Halen 2? That's a joke!

No. You're a bad musician because you can't play or sing worth a damn. J/K
If you don't want to see VH, don't go see them. It has absolutely no bearing on your musical prowess or dedication to your craft.

David Lee Roth was great for what he did, energy, attitude...sometimes he even sang in key during a live show
Sammy is/was a better vocalist but maybe not as good a song writer...
Bottom line, you don't owe them anything and they don't owe you anything. Your musicianship and your VanHalen fanboy status are not linked.

1984 was the only good album they made. I'd go to a concert if they'd play that album.

I've never really liked any of their vocalists all that much. VH was is and always will be about Ed & Alex. I'd see them, but it's probably $100 a ticket, so I'll stick to bootlegs.
