Ok, I need a GPS for around $250 or less.
Could you list some good GPS companies and link me to them?
Thank you for any help.

Couple of the big names...
Garmin
Magellan
Lowrance
I have a Garmin GPS II+ 12-channel handheld. Paid about $260 a few years ago and am very happy with it for hiking and navigation.

I was looking at these two from NewEgg.
Magellan GPS
Garmin GPS
Could you recommend which one is better for typing in a start street address and an end street address and get directions? This will be used for traveling around a town.

I don't have personal experience with Magellan gear but my Garmin hasn't let me down. It's not a mapping version (this was before those came out) so I have a serial cable that connects to my laptop running MapPoint 2002.
From the spec sheets, the Garmin has a 2MB more usable memory for maps, a few more other data points, and longer battery life. As far as the GPS core goes, they both look comparable. My Garmin is flashable which was cool because they added some features to the last firmware.
My advice would be to find a store that carries them and try them both out. How intuitive the interface is will most likely be your selling point.

Hey I got a question about this GPS. Do you have to pay a monthly fee to use it? Like internet? I mean you do use the satelites and that probably costs money. And money is honey.

No, no monthly fee.
I've used several Magellan products and they rock. Most are waterproof, they can pull sat signal through relatively heavy tree cover, they float and are fairly expandable. Highly recommended from me.
