Some of you may know this racing track from Formula 1. Anyway, it is in Belgium and according to some, the most beautiful track in the world. Well, I went racing on it last weekend :D

With a 1981 BMW 323i to be precise. Custom suspension and brakes, stock engine (but soon to be upgraded), and as lightweight as possible.

During two days, we did a total of 705km on the track (which is a lot!). I blew my head gasket, but that isn't a problem since the engine is going out anyway. There was a very nice atmosphere there, nice cars, nice people, and quite some nice weather too.

Here are some pictures:

Here's the exit from the 'chicane' with Rob's 323i in first place.

A Z8 on the parking lot..

My 323i was lowered enough to use the hood as dinner table :D

Here's the 'chicane' entry.

And the straight line before the 'Source' turn. The pit-lanes are on the right.

I managed 160-170km/h in the straight lines, with 175km/h top speed. Not bad for this old little car!

The scenery is very beautiful..

There was an M1 that went for a lap on the track, but for some unknown reason it had to be towed back to the paddocks... We didn't see much of M1 action unfortunately..

Another nice view

Some of my dutch friends lost control and rolled over while following us... Car totalled.
Image

Look here! An original Alpina B6 2.8 from France... Looking good too, but puffed quite some smoke on the track..
Image

A peek under the hood from the E28 which scared everyone on the track because of their straight exhaust (no muffler)

Here's my little car, just after the 'la source' turn..

All done and back on the trailer..

If you want to see some of the action, check out this little vid of fairly high-speed driving.

I blew a lot of money on this weekend, but every cent was worth it! :D

Very Cool!! I'm pretty jealous. I'd love to have an opportunity like that. Looks like it was a great time. I can only imagine what the adrenaline levels were like while getting on it -- without having to worry about the po-po chasin ya ;)

Lol. That's not even a fourth of what I've been up to since the end of my univ finals :D
I can see it when I look at my bank account balance, too... Which is a pity :)

Nice lookin Bimmer Tri. I wish we had some tracks like that around here, I'd love to see what my E36 M3 is capable of.

Hopefully they have some good tracks up around Kansas City when I go to KU Law next year.
