JibJab In Trouble

Well, lawyers had to ruin everything. The company that owns the copyright to Guthrie's "This Land" is suing JibJab.com for illegally profiting off of the song.

Parody, anyone?

JibJab was offering the mp3(or is it WMA) of the audio to that fine flash for like 3 bux or something.

Mind you, the Original was a jab at capitalism.

here's a quote from the above link:
Guthrieâ??s most famous song "This Land Is Your Land" has become a part of the American community. Originally written in 1940, Guthrie intended the song to reclaim America for the common worker. It describes the native beauty of the land, but at the same time exposes the problems of a capitalist society...
My guess is, this Richmond Organization is sueing over the more populist version of the song

Not only that, but there might be some server problems too. We tried to watch this in my Political Science class to try to lighten the mood (yesterday saw a heated debate on economics) and the audio kept cutting out for some reason.
