Just hearing that Saudi Arabia is in dialog with other muslum nations about sending troops to help Iraq secure the peace. Now I know those on the left will see this as suspicious coinciding as it does with the upcoming elections here, I rather think it shows a realization that Iraq is over the most difficult part of its post Saddam difficulties and is now a country that best be gotten on the good side of. Sending a little security help can't hurt and may speed the transition to stability that much the faster. Secondarily having US troops there along with vast oil reserves positions Iraq as a real BMOC. Best start sucking up now before it is too late.

I consider myself leftist and I cant find anything wrong with this idea. The more countries we get in there to help out with security there the better.

If this is true, it would a great solution. If we can be "pardoned" from the Geneva convention obligation of rebuilding what we mess up, this would be a win-win for everyone. Now I know there are other factors involved with companies wanting the contracts for rebuilding, but it's time to get out of there and let the muslims take over. It's an affront for us to be there to begin with and there are enough screwball groups that are BENT on keeping things from settling down.

i.e. the Saudis have thier way of handling this stuff that our laws won't permit .. at least in view of the public.
