someone in my department apparantly e-mailed this to the rest of the department early this morning. It was my last day of work as assistant sysadmin (going on the Chifest road trip, and starting a very different job when I get back.) There were people in and out for quite a bit of the day, thanking me and the real sysadmin. It was really quite cool...

it's someone who takes care of a lot of computers, so that the people who need those computers for work / school can use them.
For example, I keep 20-30 workstations patched and upgraded and virus-protected, install software and hardware, and set up new systems when they come in.

Heh. There's no Admin appreciation at my job. I am their servant. Fortunately, I don't have to do any work for anybody until they submit a trouble ticket! Mwa hahaha!
