OK I've been having some problems and maybe your fine DBB'rs can help me

My network doesn't work.... I hooked a telephone cable from the 56k Modem to the other 56K modem... I can't transfer Files anyone know what is wrong?

I just downloaded the D2 patch and burned it to my D2 disk, now the game doesn't start.. says Insert D2 disk...ANY IDEAS?

Picked up Descent from the Store...
Minimum Requirements : 33MHz and a soundblaster compatible sound card
I have a 2.8ghz and an Audigy 2, will that work?

Modems don't work this way, to my knowledge. You need something inbetween that acts as a carrier. Now maybe you can use hyperterminal to do this somehow, but I think you need a null modem cable between your serial or parallel ports.

Actually, that probably won't work because Descent needs an SB16 compatibile card, and from my experience with the SBLive, is that newer cards don't work so well in DOS. However, D1X 1.43 works beautifully, so try that.
