Its weird..my Force Feeback Pro2 won't Bank in D3 with XP. (the twist function of the joystick)

When i go into the utility to test my joystick it works. But in the joy control panel in D3 it wont allow me to select it..

the hat..everything else works fine in d3..but no bank.

Anyone know of existing issues regarding this problem?.

Its not like it worked on this machine at one point and now it doesnt..This would be the first install of d3 on my new XP machine.

Thanx!

Did you just plug in the Force feedback 2 (like you should have) or did you load the drivers disk

often the throttle is the problem jbomb. if you havent centered the throttle on axis detect, d3 will think the throttle is the first axis moved and assign it to the function you wanted to have the twist.

center the throttle and try again.

Works fine w/ the drivers disk (highly recommended too). Digi's suggestion is a good one, I almost always get the same thing when setting up D3..

XP usually doesn't need any drivers for Sidewinder hardware. At least for my 3D Pro, it just detects a Sidewinder game controller and automatically sets it up. Digijo and Grendel are right, though; all of the Descent games can be real pains when trying to set up the twist vs. the throttle.

V4.0 is the latest -- only available on the disk that comes w/ the stick tho :( If you have an upload location I could send you the setup (~8MB). W/o the software the sensitivity is quite low and the deadzone huge..

There's a bug in D3 under XP that doesn't allow force feedback to be enabled, even if it works fine with other games.

Mine works perfect on both my machines with no drivers at all. Have you verified that the RZ axis is in fact selected for bank in D3?

What are you talking about, Ace? I'm referring to Microsoft's Sidewinder line, including the 3D Pro, Precision Pro 1 and 2, Force Feedback Pro, and gamepad. They were around long before the recent Logitech stick of the same name.
