If yo play call of duty, dont bother with these drivers, I've also noticed that Anitalising STILL dont work with d3.also, gamma cant be adjusted in opengl....gees cant ati fix anything without breaking basic functions???!!!
Has anyone else noticed under these drivers that in both DirectX and OpenGL modes Descent 3 has some clipping issues? I see walls appearing through other walls, lights in other rooms appearing as well.
I've noticed this in 4.2 and 4.1(altho 4.1 wasn't as bad as 4.2)!!!!
I've also noticed that skipping is back also(if you play with vsync on like i do, you cant miss it) This is the latest bug that totally PI$$ES me off. From reading the rage3d boards, it seems most other users are also having lots of open-gl issues....
I'm getting ready to reformat my system here really soon, and i'll probably be going back to one of the 3.5- 3.7 drivers.... i cant use anything before that time as vsync was completly broken, and anything after 3.7 seems to have just gotten slower and added more bugs...
I think ATI's QA department has been calling in sick. For what its worth, a lot of people have been complaining about their new Linux drivers as well being much slower. In a recent case, ATI recalled these drivers after finding a significant bug in them.
Don't have d3 installed at the moment, but i play half life / counter strike in OGL, and i don't have any pauses or slowdowns. Also UT2004 demo works perfectly, i think it's D3D.
to see the pauses, vsync has to be enabled..... are you sure your playing those game with it turned on???? Most people turn it off and leave it off in every game.
