Anyone know of any issues with this printer and XP w/SP2? I've tried the 1.0 drivers and the 2.1.0 drivers, and it has trouble connecting through the USB port (only option on this printer), Windows will install it, recognized when it is plugged in and unplugged... but the software won't connect to the printer, & printer freezes. Worked fine under Millenium just days ago...

Try udating MB drivers. Or reinstall USB HUB by deleting them on device manager, then rebooting.

you upgraded from ME?= mistake #1
Fresh install (even with an Upgrade version of XP)
you get a prompt for ME CD key
Uninstall HP software, reaload MB drivers(as stated above) hope and pray the ME issues didn't follow you

check HP site for updated drivers?
How old is this thing? HP might not even support it under XP.

Not very helpful, but I always had bad experiences with HP's combo printers. They are very badly (and often stupidly) built, poorly written software and are the main source of income for my PC repair. Only help I can give you is to avoid them next time.
What you could try is the parallel connection. You say its the only option to use USB, however with SP2 some programs have not been operating correctly such as Zone Alarm. I think its the software/drivers that are not able to work under SP2, so try that or on another computer that has SP2 to test that theory out.
