Very nice CGI. Totally crap design of a robot - but nice CGI.

Somehow, I think a police robot is going to be covered in 10mm armour, will not carry a weapon, have 360 degree vision, (Two eyes suck!) and be substantially larger than the one depicted.

Also, somehow, I can't accept a police robot firing at human beings. There's just NO WAY anyone is going to accept that. A robot has no moral code which could permit it to decide when (or who!) to shoot. (Remember ED-109 in robocop?)

Robots are great recon devices - but leave the shooting to the humans please! Dumb-a$s CGI designers. Brilliant at rendering, stupid as a door-post in design. I think Jerry Bruckheimer might have been involved... :P

Wanna check it? Send it to your friend the copy editor; he'll vouch for me. ;)

The USA has already armed the remotely operated "recon" planes and destroyed tanks with hellfire missiles. Cruise missiles are essentually flying robotic bombs. They have already made a lot of progress in the transition to machines fighting instead of humans.

That was the ED-209. Remember... YOU HAVE 2 SECONDS TO COMPLY!

I'm thinkin Nitro that it might be super-imposed CGI, kinda like golem.

And Mobius, if I heard the vid correctly, this is a remote patrol bot. That is, it's a camera with legs for cops. A drone.

Still a wicked vid. I love that shot where he takes a hit.
