Yeah, it's pretty fun. I'm working with my lvl. 87 sorceress right now, which is hard with my shitty dorm connection.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with it, but it's not like an MMORPEEFSG or whatever they're called in that in Diablo you create/join games, and, minutes after everyone leaves, the game/world ceases to exist. But it's all good since there's no $$/month payment. The plot's fairly linear too.

I understand it has pretty good single player action, too? That's what I'm mostly interested in.

If you happen to have a console, I'd recommend Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II. It's basically a Diablo II clone with very good graphics and a better single player game - highly recommend it... maybe they even have it for PC, although I haven't heard that.

I also hear DA's sequel is much better than the first, which isn't worth getting...

It's highly addictive.. I don't fancy the genre, but once I got started I was hooked - I beat the game on the first two difficulty levels.

Also, you get a sour wrist pretty fast from clicking the mouse all the time :)

It's a fine game for sure. Just make sure you get the Lord Of Destruction expansion pack. Adds more stuff then I care to list. :)

For single player, I'd vote Dungeon Siege over Diablo II.

I think I killed off an even year of my life in Diablo2:LOD At one point I had like 10 level 90+ characters. I'd play again maybe if there wasa big group of people and we all started fresh characters with no twinking....and if you dont know what twinking is, you probably dont do it :P

I update my accounts every 3 months and that is pretty much it. We played mostly on USEast because that is where my friends brother played the most so... but we stopped playing after 1.10 finally came out. I've also had some bad experiences with Blizz when my friends and I got into it.

There was an incident where they supposedly tracked a hacker to our IP so they turned off our accounts. We had to call them and find out wtf happend because we couldn't connect to b.net. Then three days later they turned our accounts back on.

Then there was another situation where on my own personal accounts the characters showed up but when you clicked to use them it would say they've expired even though right next to the character it said they all still had 42 days left before they expired

Fortunately I only ended up losing one character after all that and it was my perf-gem mule. Still have my chip-gem mule which is more important because crafters trade stuff for chips.

The interest started to fade when all my friends left after 1.10 came out because it made it much much harder to rush someone through the game on all three difficulties and then power-cow to level the characters up and become self sufficient in the game. Learning how to trade for much better items. Doing pindle/mephisto runs for much better items and ultimately making the strongest character you could possibly make within the limits of the game itself.

1.10 changed the whole dynamics of the things we enjoyed the most. The game itself is still fun, don't get me wrong but since most of the people I played it with don't play anymore it just didn't have that same special something.

I still have though...

lv.91 Bowzon
lv.91 SwordBarb
lv.91 Paly
lv.91 Sorc
lv.87 WereDruid
lv.86 Javazon
lv.84 SummoningNecro - Full Trangs Set.
lv.83 FireSorc

All equiped with medium to high end items/weapons/armor. When I was doing MF runs which 1.10 also changed, I usually just threw away the low end stuff. Which, looking back was a bad idea because some people who were doing new characters on their own traded some good items for low end set items. Also when I started my newest lv.38 AxeBarb character earlier this year I could have used some of the lower level items.

It was fun while it lasted....I drop in every so often to goof around. Perhaps I'd get back into it. I spent way too much time to let all my stuff go to waste. I mean....

I have 8 total accounts. Two for playing and the other 6 full of mules so....Would be kind of fun to get back into it again.

I still play a fair bit. Tyranny, gems are worthless these days dont bother wasting space on em save for a few perf diamonds and topaz. Rubies are also a bit useful if you like "crafting " rare items.

I play on USEast and can be found weekday evenings other than tuesday....Gammaray and I have played a fair bit together.

I've built up a sick melee dueling pally for lots of fun, a strong cold sorc for PVM and MF runs. Also have a Good Zon built, but i need to re-acquire a few items which i traded away for better stuff. Also have a Prety strong Barb, which again is missing a few items(I have em soemwhere) which is a good dueller and pretty much invincible in gameplay save for Iron Maiden casting Doom Knights ;)

I know what twinking is... I routinely twinked my low levels in DAOC- I wouldn't plan on twinking, here, though. I don't know too much about the game, just busted out the demo and it looks pretty cool. I'll look into DA2.

See here for why I'm interested in SP only.

bnet has sucked since the first time I started playing on it when Starcraft came out. I don't think it will get much better.

Komp, I've looked for you several occasions, but I never seem to see you online.

Are you on east or west? Then again it's probably my choice of playing times.

Baal, I'd be on more if not for the fact that my work hours changed. blah!

Gonna see about gettin some game time in tomorrow (wed)

I haven't played in years but I used to be totally addicted. I might consider reinstalling it if we get a group to start fresh and stuff.

8 person parties starting nude from act 1 rule. Thats the only way to play.

playing nekid = new character

My sorc is only level 2. I've hardly played BNet because of the lag. I played 10 min last night and I could see the lag.
