Welp, just ordered the mobo and PSU this monrning. Which reminds me Avder. You know this board requires an EPS PSU, right? Meaning it has to have a 24-pin ATX connector, not the standard 20-pin.
Mwave raised their price in the last couple of days on the PC-DL so I got it at
zipzoomfly for 188 shipped (2 day fedex)
I got the PSU over at
newegg for 96 bucks.
everything else I have. Oh yea, Fry's has new retail 60 gig maxtors for 44 bucks, limit one. Guess I'll run down there at lunch for a few

Lucky SOB's.. There isn't a respectable computer store around here.

Whats the difference between an EPS PSU and a regular PSU, other than connectors? Newegg sells a converter that I was going to grab.

Btw, theyre down to 35 pairs of the Xeons, and I wont have my money for a week yet, so anyone wanna pick a pair up for me and I will pay you next week? I'll be getting about $2,000 so it will really be no problem

Anyone have a pair of these?

Two questions:
1. Do they fit on the PC-DL and if yes,
2. How loud are they?
Oh, this is the case I got my eye on for this comp:

44.5db is very loud. For comparison, a Vantec Tornado puts out 55 db.

What does the stock hsf of say, an athlonXP put out? Ive got a 40mm, 9600rpm fan in one of my boxes, what do those typically put out?
I really have no idea what that tornado fan sounds like

Thank you captain obvious. Real life reference perhaps? Or any other real answer?

Its about the loudest fan you can get. Good enough?

My friend just got rid of his because you couldn't talk on the phone in the same room with it. I seemed about as loud as a small vacum cleaner.

LOL! Lobber wasn't being a smart @$$ ... he was being quite accurate.

Vader check that case ... I believe it just might not be large enough. My IWILL dualie MB is oversized and requires more space than the standard ATX which that case accomodates. Ask someone who knows ... Xciter/Stress/Others ...

Not large enough??? Damn...can anything go right with this project?

You know, I really doubt that case is too small. The PCDL looks like standard atx size or smaller. In fact, I think my MSI K7N2 board for my athlon XP looks a bit bigger.
Ok, so, I need to find some coolers.....looks like ebay for some wind tunnels it is
Wait...will wind tunnels fit on this board? The CPU slots look pretty crowded with all sorts of capacitors nearby. What about sticking quieter fans on those loud heatsinks that newegg has? Would that work?
