Visit
http://www.blender3d.org ... Doom 3 uses maya and Blender3D for all the modeling. Along with another program called ORE (Open Render Bump) sorry no link. You can download a full non trial version for free!!! Great stuff.

... adding complete new UI functionality and in a thorough information design process to make both navigating and learning Blender easier. The "looks" has changed as well, matching better with contemporary desktop environments.
Wow. There is a God.
I've never had anything against Blender as a concept and as a program. I think it's vital we have a really great freeware 3D graphics application like it (because gMax is a joke functionally and Maya PLE has the annoying watermark - either way both are sub-optimal for serious modeling). But I always thought it was wasted on that clunky X11-styled interface they used to insist on. It's nice to know someone thought the same and is making inroads to bring it up to modern times.

Yeah, but is there a program to convert stuff to .orf files? Probably not.

All blender would ever do on my old system is crash.

Interesting... I remember playing with Blender a while back. It sucked. It looks like they've decided that user-friendliness is important after all.
Descent1 robot Loop?

Tell me if this or not, if I'm not mistaken that is a loop from a Descent 1 robot, or maybe it was descent 2..

Band : Bass Addiciton
Album : Chemical Dependency (1999)
Song : Bass From the Bottom
If so they should rename it to "Bass from the Mines"

the guitar sequences in the background at the beginning of the song are from:
White Zombie: Ratfinks, Suicide Tanks and Cannibal Girls.
i can tell you that part, but ill have to listen to the D1 and D2 soundtracks again

Not a robot, but it sounds like one of the soundtracks. The level 18 track sounds similar, and level 1 does a little too.
That's a pretty decent snippet, actually.

Like Mr. P says: it doesn't sound like a robot. Only thing it reminds me of is this, throughout but mainly at the end (3:42 and on). It's a near perfect match.

that is pretty close, just a few detailed changes but damn close

Yeah, that's definitely like one of the Descent 2 tracks. Sans the drums, the squeaky techno instrument is playing the exact same riff.

Yep that's it I knew it was from something Descent 1 related.
Just could not put my finger on it, I should have trolled through my Descent PSX rips.
I would think.. someone in the band played DESCENT!
If you like BASS! or need something to test out your Klipsch Pro Media's this qualifies. Tha's what I got it for it was the song "In Bass City" that caught my attention. The song I above was just an easter egg.

Kind of reminds me of the sound in the song Even in Death by Evanescence. If that's the sound you're referring to.

Check out that image! How awesome is that? You can do that with this program? NICE.

Not only did you unnecessarily resurrect a thread, you resurrected a thread that was broken by the original DBB! Double negative points for you!
