D1 help, D2 help, networking help... plz? :)

Question 1: How do I get my Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 to work in D1?
Question 2: Where may I find a D2 no-cd patch?
Question 3: I plan to hold mini-D1/D2(and D3, but we're talkin bout D1 and 2 right now) lans using a Linksys BEFSR81 8-port router/switch. How will I host these games and get the other players to join them on the lan?

Didn't know there was a D2X. It might help me later. D2 runs fine, I just need a no-cd patch cause I plan to load it on several machines. Other alternative is I could just burn a few more copies of the cd.

*update* been tryin out D1 and D2. I have d1x(3 versions of it), and I just realized, I can't get my Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 to work with it

Is it POSSIBLE to get it to work?

Also, seems last time I played D2 I had a different OS and joystick. I'm download d2x at http://www.brockart.de/descent/
and seeing what I can do. I'm also scrolling through the rest of the threads to see if I can find some answers to my questions there.

BUT if anyone gets D1 or D2 to work with the following config, plz tell me!!! Here it is:

Windows XP Pro
Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2(twist included)
ATI AIW Radeon 7500

as for now, I'm juz gonna wait till Decision Core comes out
