It's been toooo long since I last fired up D3 for a run through the mines. I tried loging onto the PXO server to see what multiplayre games were available and the server did not respond. Is PXO finaly dead? I was able to find some cool D3 games running on Kali. What other alternatives are out there?

PXO is dead.
If you browse to http://d3.descent.cx/tracker.d3 you can see what D3 games are currently up. If you're in Internet Explorer, you can even click on the IP address to bring up a "launch game" screen. Otherwise, just grab the IP address (I'll pretend it's 123.45.67.89:1011), open up your D3 launcher, click "setup", go over to the "misc" tab, and add the command line option -directip 123.45.67.89:1011 (but use the real IP) and then launch the game.
