Hey I was just wondering, if the PC version of GTA:Vice City would be worth the 20 bucks. We already have it for the PS2 (got it for christmas)I don't play the PS2 that much, but I do play it occasionally. I like to beat ppl 2 deth wit da hammer. I haven't gotten very far in the game though.
The PC version has a bunch of mods for download, which the PS2 version doesn't of course, but how are the controls for the PC version? Good? Bad? Ugly?
1 more thing, should I get the PS2v of the GTA: San Andreas or should I wait 2 yrs and get the version for the PC?
BASIKLY the big question is;:::;
IS THE PC VERSIONS OF THE GTA GAMES BETTER THAN THE VERSIONS FOR THE PS2
oh yea and if you bought the GTA:SA you can post how you thought about it. IS IT GOOD? I bet it is because you have to eat, and work out at the gym. And you can drive on the desert highway. I look forward to murdering someone out in the desert.
thank you for reading my thread, it took me hours to perfect the spelling.

The PC version of GTA:Vice City is much crisper then the PS2 version. The textures are all much higher in resolution (duh) and loading between sections of the city is very fast compared to the console version (Depending on the speed of your PC naturally). The soundtrack is enhanced due to the fact that they had less limitations as far as audio quality is concerned. Another of my favorite things about both PC version of GTA3 and GTA: Vice City is that you can listen to your own mp3s while playing the game.
There are a few bugs in GTA: Vice City PC of course that usually all depends on the users hardware. I did a lot of tweaking to get mine running as smooth as possible. However if you decide to get it and have some problems I'd be more then willing to help.
If you have a gamepad (which I recommend getting) such as a Nyko Airflo or a Logitech Dual Action for instance you can customize the controls to work the same as the PS2. Games that you've played on a console usually are easier to play using a gamepad on the PC. I always find playing with the keyboard difficult with 'some' games. Keyboard is the only way to go with some others Though. It's all a matter of personal preference.
As far as GTA: San Andreas, I'd get it on the console first rather then waiting two years for it to come out on PC. Naturally the PC one will probably be better in some areas (loading, graphics, etc..) but the modern GTA series is a staple of the PS2 and still would be hellish good fun on there.
I've already got my copy pre-ordered.

Good points Tyranny. The PC version sounds very much worth getting. For a gamepad, I have a PS2/USB converter so I can play it with the grandest game controller in the world.

PC is worth the money. You can do alot more with the games that run on it than on a dumb box.

I don't know off the top of my head how it goes, but if it's anything like the previous GTA games I'd get the Xbox version. Sure, the PC version can do much higher resolutions and is moddable, but as far as I know there haven't been too many mods for it, and the PC ports have been pretty lackluster.
Plus it's always fun to play games on a large TV as opposed to the computer monitor. And if you need a gamepad to play it, I see no problems with console versions.
And as far as the consoles are concerned, the Xbox is technically superior than the PS2 in almost every way.

PC version is always greater. I mean, you can't do this on the PS.

One of the coolest features of Grand Theft Auto is the soundtrack and the "radio stations" that accompany the game. Is it true that the PC version of the game has them in MP3 format?

No. The PC version has them in an odd .wav format.
A while ago I converted them to highest quality MP3s.

GTA3 has them in MP3 format on the CD, wile VC has them in a proprietary format of some sort. Of course there are converters that can turn them into MP3s.

Am I the only one who thinks that sounds really gay? Imagine starving to death in the middle of a mission because you didn't want to stop having fun to go sit around in the local Mondoburger. Or maybe you can't run anymore because you forgot to spend 30 minutes on the nordictrack at the gym.

Yea, daz tru... But I'm sure they found a way to make it fun. I dunno though, maybe it will be the shittiest feature to ever go into gaming history...

Fable had a feature like this that wasn't annoying. Effectively you didn't
have to eat, but if you ate a lot of stuff you could get really fat. And if you weilded heavy weapons you would get more muscular. It wasn't like The Sims or anything, just something that added to how you could change your character.
