I'm in the market for a new monitor. 1024x768 on this 5 year old 13 incher thing just doesnt cut through the mustard anymore.
What I want:
17-19 inch
Flat Screen
CRT
Some kind of Anti-Glare stuff.
Please reccomend only monitors/brands youve used personally.

If you want the best picture around, go with the Viewsonic one. So far I haven't seen another CRT monitor that can compare with their stuff. I use a Viewsonic 19'' CRT on my other computer, and it looks great. Never had any throuble with it either. It's cheap (under $200) and it looks very good. Much better picture than the Samsung models.

Viewsonic P90f is my recommendation. IMO, It's viewsonic's pest performing monitor in the 19" category...I own one and love it to death. Sure it cost a lil more but hey, if refresh rates are important then this would be a good choice---it can still do 100 hz at 1280x1024 (IIRC).

NEC MultiSync FE700+ (17"). Awesome. NEC's reputation is well-deserved. Their 19" MultiSync FE991 is another great one.

I've been pleased with KDS monitors - they're basicly a Sony Trinitron relabled, and they've performed flawlessly for years.

Ive been looking at the Viewsonic A91f+ a bit. The nearest Best Buy has it, and it seems to have all the features I want. Anyone have this monitor?

Philips 109s 19" CRT. Perfectly flat. Great refresh rates. Excellent geometry. Anti-Glare. very good colour.

Well after looking at everything best Buy had in stock there I went with the A91f+. So far I have a few thoughts:
1. This thing is friggin huge!
2. Games kick ass on it
3. How the hell did I live with a 13 inch monitor for so long?
I do have a few minor complaints: the pixels near the left and right edges seem to be much more individually distinguishable from those closer to the center and also theres an uneven amount of tophooking near the top of the screen. Nothing major, but it just gives the upper left corner a very minor curve to it. Oh well.
