Is there anything Duct Tape can't do? I mean I'm pretty sure it can even solve complex mathematical equations.

Edit: Oh wait. Perfect said Duck tape... Only use that to tape ducks. It is designed for the feathers not Mobo's.

are you talking about the part attached to the mobo or the clip itself?

Yeah, the plastic thing normally attached to the mobo. I ordered a replacement, so it'll be all good in time.

You know....if you have a Socket-A based motherboard, you could use another type of retention by bolting it to the case itself (through the motherboard). There are four holes on the board near the CPU that you can go through. IIRC, some Alpha heatsinks made use of this method (PAL something 45 IIRC).

Yeah, I tried checking for holes like that thinking that something along that sort may be possible, but no go. Good ol' Socket 478. Fortunately the part came in the mail today, and everything is in tip top shape.
